shane parks from woodford at 12 or 19
Shane Parks IMHO was way too thin last year. He is a very technical wrestler, with that said if he would put on some muscle and not look so anorexic he could do very well at heavier weights.
he doesnt look anorexic he just has a long and lanky build to him but he has loads of technique
the top ten ligthwieghts to me would be
1. Travis Sullivan
2. Caleb Wood
3. Shane Parks
4. Adam Carr
5. Josh Johnson
6. John Chui
7. Elliot Martin
8. Luna
9. Aaron Carr
10. Issac Ervin
there are different types of wrestlers and no one is specifically better, shane parks doesn't need to be the bulkiest wrestler in the world because that isn't what he is good at, he is good at bein fast and technical
1.caleb wood (no doubt better than sullivan there is no way to prove that he isn't. he's alot better technical wise and strength wise and hasn't been picking on 103's. if he goes 112 this year there will be no doubt that he will win it all.)
2. shane parks ( have you seen this kid wrestle. if you have you know you cant turn your head for one second because by that time hes already taken the guy down he's as fast as they come off of his feet. he had a close match with sullivan last year and knowing the competition he has in the wrestling room he will only improve vastly.)
3. travis sullivan ( will have a rude awakening if he slacks just a little he's become a big fish in a small pond to a medium fish in a big pond. his aggresiveness will get him far.
4. voth ( a beast thats all i have to say.)

You could throw Mat Eck in there. He hasnt graduated has he??
I am gonna laugh whenever the people goddin sullivan on here geta awakening when they see him dominate the weieght hew chooses to go would u not go three and dominate with strength if u could but he wil move up and his streak will stay alive
u have to draw a line where the lightweights end, and with eck at 130, im not sure if he qualifies as a lgihtweight anymore.
first off i have heard things about parks going 125, which isnt a bad spot for him because imo he has the best technique in the state(at any low weight he goes)!!!! also travis sullivan barely snuck by parks last year in a contriversial 2-0 decision...he might not win it again!?!?! caleb wood is very good but will not wrestle 112, he is a 119 pounder but lets remember... he placed an imbarassing 8th last yr due to his shoulder i do believe... matt eck isnt a light weight i think lightweights range from 103-125.
If lightweights are 103-125
#1a Wood
#1b Sullivan
#2a Voth
#2b Lewis
#3 Chui
#4 Daniels
#5 Johnson
Wood and Sullivan are both great wrestlers. I personally give Wood a slight edge. But anyone who can get on here and say anything bad about Sullivan is either jealous or isn't too smart. He will go down as one of the greats in this state, ever. There are 14 weight classes and they all count the same. I would like to see him against some bigger guys, but if he is a 103 pounder than that's what he is. Come on, how can you say Caleb's performance was embarrassing? He walked out of Frankfort with a medal only losing to some really tough kids with virtually one arm. He will come back with a vengeance this season. I also think Voth and Lewis is a great matchup.
i wasnt talking bad about caleb...actually hes one of my good friends and i feel bad that he was injured i was just saying after winning a state title and then the nxt yr getting 8th its a huge letdown to him mostly
wat about coty lewis from woodford did he graduate last year?? if not he is def in there with some of the top lightwieghts.
No if I am correct Lewis is only a Junior this year. but I will have to say that Sullivan is the best. Just look at his off season wrestling. I think I read that he won AAU nationals, freestyle nationals, and is ranked 11th in wrestling USA for is age.
yes, for juniors at 112 travis sullivan is ranked #11 and shane parks is #30. coty lewis is an explosive wrestler with alot of talent, a definit top light weight.

I seen an article about him in a magazine showing the nations best seniors...speaking of which adam carr was in the special mentions list.He would be one of the top lightweights...two year runner up.Cant say he isnt good.
is anybody gonna say anything about Dan Smith of Trinity? I hear he's beaten Carr and Martin....

Ive heard hes going back to 103...is this true??
dont forget about Dan Smaith at 112
ya my boy daniel is going 103 again this year. he has worked very hard during the offseason and i wish him the best of luck. I can't wait until his senior year, he is going to be a huge force, but i am getting way ahead of myself sooo yes he is going 103 again ths year.

third year in a row...i wish em luck and give em props
I would say the match up between dan smith and elliott martin will go much differently this year, yeah dan beat him when he weighed 79 pounds and in the middle of the season, at state dan got spanked by zeppa after elliott handled him. We will see in december what the outcome is with martin now weighing 103, much stronger and more technical.
Well martin up to 103 ,stronger and more technical will make it close ,but dont you think DAN SMith has worked just as hard this summer after getting upset at regions and getting a hard draw at state (sullivan 2nd round) ? They will battle again and I still feel smith will prevail!
PERSONALLY IM A FAN OF MARTIN BECAUSE I KNOW HE WORKS HARD AND IM SURE DAN DOES TO BUT I STILL HAVE TO FAVOR ELLIOT FOR BEING SO LIGHT LAST YEAR AND KILLING KIDS HEAVIER...I GIVE HIM PROPS....AND I DONT GO TO SENECA BY THE WAY..LOL

close? it was close when elliott was underweight, you have to realize that he has increased in size by about 25 percent and still in the same weight class, i cant wait to see that match up
close? I cant remember exact scores ,but they were not close! One of the matches was like 9-2 or something like that with smith in control and the other was similar Obviously im a trinity fan and Martin is tough, but i still favor smith! How does martin do versus warra ? Smith wants to go 103 ,but if not i feel he can step up and do well at 112 versus Warra?

Dan did control Elliott in that match, it was in the jefferson county finals, but the score at the seneca trinity duel was within 2 or 3 points. Its not an excuse but he was sick at jeff, he didn't really open up and show what he could do until regionals and state. I think the regionals match would have been very close if dan had not gotten upset. Wara puts up an admirable fight, he just doesn't yet have enough varsity mat time under his belt to hang with elliott. Where will trinitys 112 from last year be(cant remember his name)?

The Manual Kid got ranked after that match at regionals too lol.No disrespect towards anyone i just find it kind of funny. If I was Dan I would have been mad....

i wouldnt say that elliot handled zeppa. he beat him by 1 point, 4-3. it was a pretty good match. and dan smith is going to be tough this year, coming back from j robinson's 28 day camp. but then again, elliot is having to cut weight this year, so we know hes gained some muscle. smith and martin will be a good match, very close.

Sorry, i didnt mean to say that elliott destroyed zeppa or anything, it was a close score, i just meant that elliott went out, took the lead, and maintained it for the whole match, it never went back and forth. Zeppa is a very good wrestler, and i have respect for him. I think elliott just "had his number" last year, they wrestled 5 or 6 times and elliott won all of them. Elliott worked very hard over the summer, he got in over 30 out of state matches, went to a few of Joe McFarland's camps in Michigain, tough kids up there from Davidson Academy, and several other good teams from ohio, michigain, monatna, and lots more.
Ryles 112 is really tough he has really good technique and looks farely strong. At the rumble he took carr into over time. he lost but it was a real good match.
