Middle School Wrestling website

Topic ID: 1073 | 9 Posts

Hi all,

I've rebuilt the middle school wrestling website.  It's at the same url (http://www.kyswa.org).  I'm looking for past results, pictures, and any suggestions anyone has to make the site better.  If you are involved in middle school wrestling, please visit the site and send any pictures/results/suggestions to [email protected].

Specifically, i'm looking for what type of information are you looking for when you visit this site as a wrestler, parent, coach, fan, whatever.

Thanks,

Plee

i wouldn't mind seeing some rankings. not something huge, but something like ranger does on the general wrestling page.  i also would like to see more dual results. maybe eddie paden can help with both of these :) :)

good suggestion.....we have team rankings on the way....individual rankings may be hard to do for us, since the kids fluctuate so much...but i will certainly look into that.  I like that suggestion.  Thanks!

Doing rankings for middle school is a good idea for the same reasons that it is good for high school.  It would help raise awareness of our organization and would give us all something to debate and talk about.  The difficult part would be getting rankings  together that would be somewhat accurate.  With the seeming popularity of this website, I believe we could gather enough information to put together some rankings.  The rankings would certainly be able to be improved once the season starts and results from Larue County's and Oldham's Tournament are available.  The first step would be to get input from coaches on who are going what weight classes.  Example:  John Fahy would be the #1 ranked wrestler at 82 lbs.  Brent Hitchings would be #1 at 96 lbs.  JJ Jude would be #1 at 110 or 117.  If enough coaches gave input on their returning state placers, it could be done.  Plee, why don't you start a thread that asks for input from coaches for rankings.  That would be the place to start.

Sounds like a good idea.  I'll post a thread on here.

The middle school wrestling website now has results posted from the middle school state tournaments as far back as the 1999-2000 season.  It's interesting to see results for some of today's rising stars in high school.

We almost have all the results for state tournaments except for 1 season.  2002-2003.  If anyone has these results in html, or word or any other format...please email them to me at [email protected] or [email protected].

Thanks,

Plee

They used to be on the old Middle school site I believe.

Try Eddie Paden for those results. That was the year Woodford came from behind to beat Fern Creek for the Title. (Pin in Heavy weight match of the finals to give Woodford the Championship.)

Wow, i heard about that tournament....that must have been an exciting day!
