Thought it would be a good idea to keep updates coming in our KY wrestlers....Thank you ....Please post all updates if you know them

YES I KNOW Trackwrestling has updates.....We can discuss it in here !!!!

whoops....did not see other thread.....Billy....go ahead and delete this thread !!!!!!

Ackley is 2 and 1 after first session

Great wrestling keep it up

Delong at 88 was 0-2 keep your head up

Ackley at 152 was 2-2 he looked good

Delong had a Bye so he was hitting decent kids his first match .Greco is a lot different keep focused Its a different game in a couple .

Delong lost to a possible champ, that will AA, and another probable AA his second match. Hard to fight thru a draw like that.

Raynell Gets a Bye first Rd at 285

Austin Gets a first period Tech first rd 220

!

Brackets and live match updates on track wrestling.

Raynell pins

Myers Techs in the first.

A couple wins away from an AA .

good wins for two Ky Big Boys.

Nice gutsy win ATM!

Both Junior Greco- Roman wrestlers on to day 2!!!

Austin Myers with 2 Tech Falls and a 2-1 win over a Florida wrestler with Level 3 separation criteria!! On to the 1/4 finals!!

Raynel Brown gets a bye 1st round, then throws an Alabama wrestler with Level 3 separation criteria and pins him in :47 seconds!! Raynel will wrestle his 3rd round match first thing in the morning!

Awesome job men!!

Amazing job guys! Keep it up!

Raynel and Austin into the quarters!

Austin rolls into the semis

Tough test coming up with Nash who is a Greco stud. Should be a battle.

ATM now Kentuckys first ever Jr Greco All American.Has Roy Nash Last yrs Greco and Freestyle National Champ in the semis Nash is an incoming College Fr headed To Utah I believe.

Second Greco Tournament in over three Yrs for Austin and he grabs AA status .No one could ask for more but More is coming .

Raynel needs A win his next match and hes guaranteed a AA. He is a master at throws he can do it.

I was about to add JN Greco AA to the p4p list for Austin but figure I'll wait. Could be JN Greco CHAMP.

Raynel comes up just short of AA. Very good showing though from both guys in junior Greco.

Not this yr match came up quick he lost 11_1 to Nash last yrs double champ and world team member I believe too big of a task for a kid with only 1 greco trnament under his belt in 3 yrs ,nice chance they meet again in Freestyle I think Austin will have a much better chance in that style and A chance to be Kys first ever Double All American.

wow less than 40 min between matches wrestle a nat champ then have to go again in under an hr ?? he was winning till half way through the second lost 10_5.on for 5th

That was fast. One more today then rest up for FS. Hopefully we can get a couple guys on the podium in FS.

Congrats Austin.  Making KY proud.  Not done yet.  On to freestyle...Great job.

Cons. Round 6 - Dante Jiovenetta (Florida) won by decision over Raynel Brown (Kentucky) (Dec 4-1)

Great job Austin, Worse is 6th AA for GR. Raynel so close, Great Job also. On ward to FS.

This one isnt over Yet.final placing matches still to come.

let the matches get over today first lol.

Raynel comes up just short of AA. Very good showing though from both guys in junior Greco.

The kid he lost to is the younger brother of one of my best friends. Dante is probably the best heavyweight in Florida, he was hurt before state this year when he probably would've won. Pretty sure Dante AAed last year too, Brown wrestled him tough and should be very proud.

Austin is Kentucky's first ever Greco AA!! Awesome job!!

I think the match up with Nash will be a little different in freestyle! Austin got shafted on a 5 point throw he didn't get the points for in the semis.

Also awesome job by Raynel!! He picked up some big wins against two tough dudes, just came up one win short of AA. One big match left tonight then on to Freestyle.

Cadets start in the morning!

Great Job Guys. Sorry, I didn't mean to Jencks Austin in his last match.

what a joke .dont jinx us next time

up by 3 12 sec left stop match on cautions and he has all three offensive scores .protect those minn recruits all good new day new sport coming up

Austin got shafted again!! No Question!!

live and Learn and could not be prouder hes probably a bit mad and at me but I pushed him to do Greco hopefully he thanks me and everyone for it one day his second greco tournament in more yrs than that and hes an AA .Even better he has gotten a better feel for theses styles on a high level that will help him in the future .Lets go Ky Boys Yenter and Erdman are in the mix now .

time to focus on the rest of the tournament .

And yes Lb for Lb for all Time ATM.

No more shafting talk lol Nash is tough sounds like Austin should have had some more points early in could change a match .The last match whatever you totally dominate a match with all the offensive scores and a ref takes it he can have it we have more work to do and another very different yr ahead one that may see a kid focusing on Freestyle and Greco a bit more considering he will sweep the yr with tournaments like Iron Man afraid if him lol.Great job wish all his coaches could have been there the whole time Hint me as well and his brother Glad big Raynel and Logan and Yenter Jayce and the others are there good people good friends .get busy and good luck Boys its far from over and this whole group can come back next yr I think glad they did not get sidetracked as some kids did and next time when someone does a whos who of Ky wrestling theres a Young man who maybe even against his best wishes added a little something to his states resume because we or I wanted him too .Very Proud Indeed of him his Brother and his supporters another nail biting few days ahead ..

I also noticed some of the higher ranked kids still in HS stayed home lol who runs .

Any videos online yet?

why do you need a new user pic.

I will have one shortly ATM holding his States first Greco AA plaque

Nice work!

How far are they going today ? Congrats ATM on your fall ! Dixon is very quick wrestles like a 195 but I look for ATM to get to the main stage !

Awesome job Austin Myers....unbelievable tournament so far. Keep rolling!

wrestle out to placings I believe.

That is correct.

!@##$%^&&^%!  Austin gets hit with passivity again, when he has the only offense in the match. Really not liking the officiating here.

What just happened?

With 10sec left?

No they awarded a take down with no time on the clock. They hit him with passivity early in the 2nd period. That's how Dixon got the first point.

Austin is already up again

Winner winner, nice day Austin! That was a tough break in the semis, way to fight back!! Finish strong.

Congrats on the AA. That freestyle bracket was legit! Finish strong.

Austin Myers had a tough semi finals match Loosing 4-3 in the final seconds (?) of the match with a takedown. He will compete for 3/4 tomorrow. Go Austin...

Cons. Round 10 - Austin Myers (Kentucky) won by decision over Fletcher Miller (Indiana) (Dec 9-4)

let me explain what really happened dixons are legends because there are three he got whooped by a ky kid still in hs they gave atm the first then dixon the second knowing he woild win in a tie then atm splattered him with seconds left dixin charged and shot time was out when austin was standing whistle blew he went down dixin wins austin had 2x the offense and gave up 2 passivity points wth either way with little time ti recover and shook up 20 min he hammered a returning AA and incoming fresh Miller .sorry for the typos I will clean it up later

and yeah hes the only double aa in his class and what aboutbthe push out on dixin that got waved of BS.

And yes he is The best not p4p period

Congrats on the AA. That freestyle bracket was legit! Finish strong.

Dont you mean congrats on Kys first Double AA and the only Double AA in his class in the Nation Wildcat lol if your going to comment get your info straight and congrats to Reuchell awesome job but im sure you knew these were Fargo HS threads on a HS forum .

btw how did your boy do on his trips to fargo fyi 5 plaques soon to be on my wall .

better yet how was the season .

nice pic An olympian

Austin Myers seems to be wrestling great in a tough bracket.  I was hoping to see him wrestle against Marcus Harrington out of Waterloo West in Iowa in the 220 finals.  Harrington will be wrestling D1 at Iowa State this fall and quite impressive to watch on the mat (Marcus is my oldest son's hero).  Good luck to Austin Myers in the consolations finals.  He is definitely bringing some respect to Kentucky high school wrestling.

Congrats to Marcus he will do great things at Iowa State. And my money is on him tomorrow And it should have been him and Austin.

Surprised he didnt do Greco !!

Austin Will be the Hero of many young Kids I believe hopefully many shoot to be four x champs undefeated in HS wrestling competing and winning nationals like Harrington and Austin and going to the biggest tournament of All Fargo .

Must say big shout out to Fletcher Miller a stud and truly talented as well as honorable Wrestler Best of luck in college very impressed with his and Austins attitude after their match both competitors wishing they had done a bit better but still battling none of that hugging crap but a smack of hands after a good match .Very Impressive and as I scoped Him out I would not lie he was definatly one to watch out for .Hope he has a great College career

We need more ppl like Kyle/Austin to set the pace in KY with GR/FS. His senior year will be a great one.

I think the whole Jr Team will be eligible for Fargo next year Logan had some great wins and Raynel was a match away in both styles from Getting an AA.I think next year can be even Better .A week long camp like some states have would be awesome the camps that Ky had were great but more like MINI camps ,with great wrestlers like Kyle and JOJO and the rest allong with the colleges in KY who could help I think everyone would be surprised at the results they could have I also think the coaches this yr did very Well Young Jayce did a great job as did the rest Coach Yenter Ackley much appreciated .Still look at the team that could have went Had they taken the right steps and made the right choices ,Andrioni Heidorf Frankrone Lampe Mathews Miller and plenty more The Hvy champ this yr Young Bender a lot of tough ky kids staying home and too many excuses Football and so many more reasons that are just that excuses , kids need to step up and give it a shot there will be some that excell in these styles that may not be the best at folkstyle .

amazing how those college kids can Bulk up and remain Lean and ripped Harrington won 195 sr nationals and is now in finals of 220 at Fargo quite a feat as is Benicks sweep of 195

Junior finals start at 10:00 local time, 11:00 eastern time!

Way to finish the toughest tournament in the country Austin Myers. Congrats. You have set yourself up as one of the nation's elite.

Good job Team Kentucky!

Congrats to Austin Myers for coming home a double AA from Fargo!!! That last match put a complete seal on a solid week for ATM. A big shout out to the entire KY team, you guys should all be very proud of your performance. You represented the state of KY extremely well!

Big props to (2xAA)ATM! Great work. When you going to let the world where you landing at the next level?

To all the others who went and put your selfs out there when (I guess?) you didn't have to...stand tall.

It's good to see that some folks have finally come to understand what Fargo is all about...Better late than never. Congrats to the Coaches for their time and effort spent on these boys. One more step up for Ky wrestling, you all are a part of that.

I am very proud of how far wrestling has come in this state. I've lived in some of the hottest spots for wrestling in this country. This state has aways to go but we are finally seeing the tail lights.

Congrats to all, and looking forward to another great year.

Ky finishes tied for 24th with Florida and Washington.with the lowest team member Count in the top 30 .Great job and every kid on the Jr team had multiple wins in Fargo and the cadets had wins as well .

With the kids that Could possibly go next yr I think they could stun everyone and challenge for a top ten Spot certainly break into top twenty fifteen range .

We're not looking for moral victories.  Logan has two more shots at it.  His goal is to AA.  I like his chances.

Im sure he gets his AA he has always been a worker and thats what it takes he should do Greco in the regions and other tourneys even if he doesnt do it in Fargo ,its just extra mat time and experience ,

Raynel could get it done as well some of his well timed throws and some work and he could get an AA there as well .It would have been neat to see the effort that is put into Team KY NHSCA nat duals by the kids put into Fargo with a whole team of two in each weight all the best who knows what could happen.

Congrats to all that represented KY!

You should all be proud.

It is amazing to see the progress we've made in the past few years.

Special props to Austin, he is a special talent!

That's great! I'm sure he can.

IMO, this tells quite a story. KY showed it can compete. Team points are partially a numbers game, partially a talent game. However, winning percentage is based on talent. Get the participation up and the team numbers are sure to follow.

It's been a joy to watch ATM wrestle and it was fun to follow him through Fargo. Congrats and thanks for giving us old and out of shape guys something to smile about.

Great showing, congrats to all the boys and coaches.

Has anyone checked with the KHSAA or NCAA to make sure this does not affect their amateur standing?

It is not a gift. KY USAW gives over $6,000 to assist the team now.

I have my concerns about this as well. A very well-intended idea though.

LOL I think its a bit ridiculous someone tries to help and the vultures start circling.

What you posted looks like it rewards the wrestlers based on placement. That is different than playing some of the expenses for the team.

Your kid looks like he could get a scholarship to wrestle somewhere. If there is a chance he could lose that because he accepted money based on his placement would you want me to not say anything or do you want to be surprised after it is to late?

Thanks yeah he looks like it but who knows lol.I think any kid or parent looking at a scholarship knows you cannot get paid.

Not sure of the specifics of the plan but it sounded like and he stated reimbursement ,not pay to win or for wins either way a noble gesture already being jumped on by the mob before they had the decency to ask specifics .Anyway there are those of us who would help with whatever they can any kid in N ky who needs help training / weight training can come to my club and pick our brains free of Charge .I know a bit about Dieting as well .simply Pm me .

Good lookin out if you are sincere .But I wouldnt sweat it.

I owe ATM a few bills for his performance and an extra C note for a big comeback after a loss in Free .I am accepting Donations lol

great job Team Ky

ohio does the same thing excess money raised for or by kids goes into their funds for future use at USA tournaments !!!!

I guess they are breaking rules already

A magnificent idea actually that will help kids who are at their peak compete more and represent their sport and their State .

When I asked "Has anyone checked with the KHSAA or NCAA to make sure this does not affect their amateur standing?"   I knew what the NCAA bylaws state. It would appear that there may be a problem with that plan. I coach in Indiana and the IHSAA told us we could not do it or kids could lose their amateur standing. I figured Kentucky would have a rule kike that also. I did look it up. It also looks like it would not be allowed. That is why I asked. The responsible thing to do before putting this plan in place would be to check with the KHSAA and the NCAA to get a ruling. If they say ok then that is great. If not the time to find out is before any kid gets burned by it.

If the kid raised funds themselves then that would not be breaking any rule. Read the rules and see what you think.

Good looking out folks.

Nice comment from someone sporting an olympian pic but who has never had to send someone to Fargo or worry about anyone competing in that level Odd you even looking in other than to instigate in a thread better left to those who actually have concerns with the issues involved in these styles .Im sure everything will be kept appropriate now the snakes can crawl back to tbeir Holes and hiss later .
