My son did the grand river rumble and really liked it so I may see if he wants to do it,thanks for the info

I like that it has college riding time and out of bounds rules.  There will be a lot of college coaches there as well.

Been there 3x....awesome tourney with great talent. I think my boy was in a 50+ man bracket and no real walkovers.

This list is impressive.  125# is going to be crazy!

I guess the guys in Michigan still think Ky Wrestling is chopped liver. They seed the top 16 and leave Aj.Bindner off the seeds, lol .About 10 Michigan kids seeded in top 16. If they think they have 10 kids better than Aj,i will take that bet. But on a good note Keegan Duncan is seeded 6th

That's alright. Let's "reseed" by putting a bunch of KY boys on the podium. I know I'm more than happy for my kid to draw a number of those seeded wrestlers early.

Sounds like a good plan, good luck to you all this weekend, unfortunately i have to work but i will be going to Iowa in 2 weeks

On the bright side, other than Lincoln Olson 130 is wide open I think.

I think your right B10 but without being seeded we could draw Olsen first, lol. O well i guess bad luck for Olsen. Lol you have to think positive right?

good luck to all! hope you have to rent a truck to haul back all the hardware.

Agreed WHS.  I've watched Olsen a bunch of times.  He reminds me of Boston last year at the beginning (takedown/cut/takedown/cut).  It could be different with the riding rules but I honestly don't recall ever seeing him pin or ride in any of the matches I watched in person.

Olson is tough but he's beatable.

GFC sent me back a text saying Aj not being seeded was an oversight, but i got to looking at all the seeds and after the top few the others are very very close,so i guess i can see how tough a job they had seeding

Time to go wreck a bracket!

I haven't had a chance to go back and find all the placers but I know the KY boys brought home some hardware from Michigan.

At the HS level Keegan Duncan wrestled great and placed 5th. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off so I can't speak to who he wrestled but I know there were some studs in that bracket. Ryan Moore placed 8th beating a couple of MI state runner ups before losing to a Fargo champ 10-5 (track had score wrong) and a MI state champ before hitting the wall in the 7/8 placement match. Others who competed very well were AJ Bindner who was on a roll before losing 2 close matches. Blake Roth looked good coming up just short of placing. And I inly saw Tylan Tucker wrestle once, smashing that kid. Bottom line both of those 105s were on the small side.

Our only elementary wrestler Spencer Moore placed 3rd losing 3-1 in the semis to Hayes who is a national champ from Illinois.

Someone else can give an update on the MS kids. I know Zane Brown won and Chase Yost, Nate Wheeler, and Ronan Wyatt were in placement.

I would recommend everyone give these Michigan grappler events a look. They hold 3 big tournaments a year (one over the Christmas holiday that is hard for some to do during the season). The Grappler Fall Classic and Grand River Rumble offer great competition in a great venue. And it's only about a 5hr drive. Next summer I will be posting for the GRR dual teams in July. Hopefully we can get an elementary, ms, and hs team.

One other thing I will add. I heard a number of coaches/dads that were impressed and making positive comments about our KY boys. We keep making progress, making good impressions, and competing well.

Thanks for the insight Ranger.

I noticed one of Blake's matches is on Flo

Correction Roth Binder Duncan and Moore all have matches from GFC on Flo

The majority of my matches were in extremely tuff ohio tournaments and was one of the first ky wrestlers to compete in several national tournaments. Dont worry about seeding, it just sets you up for failure looking at seeds. show up ready to compete and to be your best. You do that and ky wrestlers will take care of business as I know they are capable of. Ill take a high placer over a high seed any day
