Hey all,

Northern Kentucky University may be a ways off from getting an NCAA wrestling program (one day, we can hope), we now have an active club team participating in the National College Wrestling Association (NCWA). We travel and compete against other schools, participate in college open tournaments, and wrestlers will have the opportunity to attend the national championships in Texas, if they qualify. This is a great opportunity for all those wrestlers who dont have a scholarship to one of the four NAIA schools in Kentucky. Wrestling doesnt have to end after high school! I wanted to share this information with high school seniors, especially ones who are already considering NKU for higher education. However, if you know any former wrestlers who are currently at NKU, and dont have knowledge of this club, please point them to us! Our actual duals wont start until January, so we are still taking on more wrestlers!!!!

Plus, there are a good number of Alum and local high schools that would be on board!

We are just as excited! It has the potential to be big. Northern Kentucky is a powerhouse for wrestling in the state, yet we have no collegiate presence, until now. I plan to post the events on here. This season the closest event to home would most likely be University of Cincinnati. We actually practice at Norwood high school, and at Next Level Academy in wilder. We hope to have a mat at NKU by the fall. We are on the lookout for used mats as well. We really just need help communicating and spreading the word. I will keep the Kentucky Wrestling Forum regularly updated!
