Yes, but it is full. Originally it was accidentally scheduled with more teams due to coaching change, but with the few that dropped, it's where it should.

No dog in the fight, but just because there are 16 teams coming, doesn't mean there will be full 16 man brackets. A lot of the teams listed have multiple holes. Having a team, any team, needing help getting in an event this close to the end of the season, you help them out. I would think WHHS would be more accommodating.

I realize that the brackets may not be full and that's fine with Coach Wilkins and myself. Like I said, we originally had more teams. But now that we have more space it can free space for possibly some extras to get in. We have a good mix of quality teams and if I can take care of those teams and let the extras in, i will. I feel I owe it to them for being a part of the tournament last year, this year, and for years to come.

I also gave coach some options of other tournaments that I know go on the same day as well. Hopefully he will find one for his team and I wish them the best of luck.

And to let you know, other teams also asked in and we turned them down as well.

But when I was at Western Hills I put this tournament together with a vision of teams that were quality from all over the state, that didn't necessarily have the number to get in state duals, but we're competitive in tournaments. It gave them a chance to do well and have a shot at a team trophy which usually is out of the norm for their teams. I think I've done well hitting that mark and do it in a very efficient way and most enjoy their day. That being said, Woodford is not a fit for our vision of this tournament. There was not room, but even if there was I likely would not have had them based on how we want this tournament to be. Like or not, agree or not, I believe I have done the right thing for the tournament. Best of luck to them and all the teams who will be participating.

With teams trying to qualify for state duals and teams confirming..and teams dropping. .it is a hard task to make sure a tournament that is used as a fundraiser is either full or not...to ask at the last moment to get in any tournament is 50/50..but the teams that come every year..get priority. .then we add..turning down a team is NOT a personal issue..we are trying to provide a quality tournament. .good wrestling. .and get everyone home at a decent hour..please in the future if you want to be in our tournament. .confirm early. .with the understanding if you make state duals ..excellent. .we will fill slots..thank you to all the quality teams coming the 31st. .WHHS appreciates you..and will bust our tails to provide your teams with a quality tournament. .

maybe teams joining a tourney late should be asked to pay an extra late enrolling fee.

Agree on the late fee, will hurt some but that's the price you may have to pay for being so competitive. Most of those teams probably have the funds to pay it anyway.
