Enough of the boring topics.  Make the picks in the your regions.

Just A Shot In The Dark But (if these regions are right)

Region 1-Union

Region 2-Central Hardin

Region 3-Fern Creek

Region 4-St.X

Region 5-Trinity

Region 6-Campbell

Region 7-Lafeyette

Region 8-Harrison

I will give it go for Region 6:  Big time Cooper fan...don't crush me for it.

CC 194 points;  9 to state

Cooper 176 points; 8 to state

Ryle 146 points, 7 to state

SK 107 points, 5 to state

Scott 101 points, 5 to state

WV 90 points, 5 to state

Ok this isn't a team prediction but I predict region 6 (220's) top 2 will finish state champ and runner up in ATM (champ) yes I know really going on a limb there lol but I do think the runner up Hamedian from Boone will finish runner up at state as well.

Region 3-Fern Creek

Region 8-Harrison

Is'nt St. X and Trinity in the same region?

Idk I wasnt 100% sure probably so

St. Xavier and Trinity are both in region 4 which is stacked along with Male, Moore, Manual, Central and even teams like Atherton are vastly improved.

Region 5 has the Oldhams, Woodford, Anderson, Scott Co. etc...

Ok then I would say woodford for region 5

I wouldn't want to see a 2 or 3 seed from region 4 or 6 at certain weights! Maybe even a 4 knocking off a 1 in some cases.

considering I've seen most if not all the top teams this season in my copious travels...

Region 1: Union Co (is there anyone who can even stay within 100pts of them?!)

Region 2: Meade is the clear cut favorite simply because they field a FULL 14 weights which is more than any other team in this region can say. But, and I never thought I'd say these words, LaRue is a better tournament team this season so they have an extremely outside shot. Don't count out North Hardin either.

Region 3: Fern Creek

Region 4: Dogfight between St. X and Trinity (Lou.) with Male having an outside shot

Region 5: Oldham Co is the favorite to me with Woodford having a shot with a few upsets

Region 6: Campbell Co

Region 7: Call me crazy but I like Wayne Co here. Lafayette and Henry Clay will push them but after a disappointing showing at State Duels I think the young Cardinals will be looking for redemption.

Region 8: I haven't seen many of these teams, but from what I've heard, this could be a region that isn't decided until the finals. Johnson Central, Montgomery and Harrison all have to be the favorites here.

State Tournament will start this weekend folks!!! How many wrestlers finish in their region will determine where they have a chance to finish at State Tournament. Draws and how you finish will play a HUGE HUGE roll in how many wrestlers (and also teams) will finish in Lexington on the 20th and 21st this season.

I should have my Region 1 Predictions tomorrow. I'm running practice so if I don't get it done on my lunch break then it won't be until late in the evening

I will give it go for Region 6:  Big time Cooper fan...don't crush me for it.

Ryle 146 points, 7 to state

WV 90 points, 5 to state

Good call on Cooper plenty of top notch wrestlers there it will be close for second, but I cannot pull the trigger and call it. I also like Scott to be a spoiler.

"Region 7: Call me crazy but I like Wayne Co here. Lafayette and Henry Clay will push them but after a disappointing showing at State Duels I think the young Cardinals will be looking for redemption."

think it should be tight race between those three. Sounds like Wayne is peaking at a good time, heard they defeated Harrison County pretty good sat at jtown. Not sure if Harrison was at full strength though. Lafayette will be hurting points wise without Jon Green. And Henry Clay doesnt have Gawthorp now at 220, so they will be looking for extra points from guys to make up. After a couple upsets at city last week, should see some good matches between some tough lexington kids.

I don't see how Male has an outside shot at Region 4.

I think Male is fourth behind St. X, Trinithy and Manual.

Really tough region with some outstanding wrestlers from Central, Eastern, Moore and others as well.

I think Male will be right there in 3rd. Unfortunately they are in with Trinity and Stx, I think in 4 or 5 other regions, they would be competing to be a region champion. Great job for a 4th year team

Yes, Male is much improved with some good wrestlers and a lot of kids this year.

A bit of a brighter outlook for Cooper than I expect they have some legit studs but at state I doubt they end up very close to Ryle And I will.take Ryle to be runner ups at region comfortably .

Wayne County is wrestling tough, HC wasnt at full strength, we were resting some guys before regions but nevertheless Wayne county put on a great showing at the Charger Classic and wrestled tough.  They will compete for the region 7 title for sure. As always they are deadly with the headlock.  Taylor from HC had a great match with Cecil from Wayne.  Look out for both of those boys at 160.

Region 7 predictions by weight?

Manual 46, male 24 this past Saturday duals

Manual 46, male 24 this past Saturday duals

Region is not duals format and Male had 3 wrestlers at m.s. state. 2 runners up and a state champ and m.o.w. I'm pretty sure that dual would have gone a bit different. Manual is a good team, but in tournaments at this time, I feel male has the advantage. They just won ft knox that had woodford, Lafayette, and Montgomery Co there. That's most impressive to me the a dual win over a team without 3 starters in the line up.

HELP!!! Can a kids weight class be changed after regional seed meeting? We had a kid put into a weight class with out wrestling off for a spot (coaches kid) the last time the kids wrestled off his son lost back to back matches.. What do we do?

in region 7 coaches are allowed to make changes, I do not know about other regions, but I'd assume all would allow this. We have to allow for changes, kid switches or weight switches

My guess is that even with those three wrestlers there, male still would've lost. 22 points a big deficit for three wrestlers to make up, no matter how good they are against a solid team like manual. I know it's duals format but manual also got third at JCTC, over male I believe when they had a couple wrestlers out.

Three wrestlers have the ability to make a 36 point swing. 3 more pins (+18 points) for team "A" and 3 less pins (-18 points) for team "B"

actually 22 points is easily over come with 3 wrestlers. If 2 wrestlers go from getting pinned to pinning, it's a 24 point swing. But regardless, it will work out Saturday. Good luck to everyone

Any region 8 predictions?

beat me too it..lol

Manual has beaten Male twice this year. And finished higher than us at Jefferson County. I won't make excuses. They beat us. Best of luck to everyone in Saturday.

Very respectable coach, thank you. Good luck this weekend!

Good luck to everyone safe tournaments all around .

Region 4 isn't available to public. Cmon man!

Do we have a master list of all region locations 1-8?

Do we have a master list of all region locations 1-8?

go to khsaa wrestling page. Under region information there is site selection plan. Shows all sites and where they will be next few years

I don't see how Male has an outside shot at Region 4.

I think Male is fourth behind St. X, Trinithy and Manual.

Really tough region with some outstanding wrestlers from Central, Eastern, Moore and others as well.

All im saying is the truth will come out this weekend. Nothing like two of the strongest rivalrys in the state going at it in one region. Depending how the cards play out there could be some upsets for this Region. Good luck to everyone!

Region Predictions:

Don't see Apollo making a run at the title, but I've been wrong before.

Captain:  Apollo has serious champion contenders in 106 through 132.  North Hardin has no wrestlers in the first few weight classes and will count heavily on the success of the others to pull it out.  Meade County has a full team, and the best chance to win it all ..on paper, but word has it they have been fighting a series of injuries and illness lately; and may not be as full in the line up from an experience stand point as they appear on paper.  There are several other teams that can win too (Central Hardin and LaRue).  But...if Apollo wins the first 5-6 wt classes and fairs well in the others, then they may suprise a lot of people and win Region 2.  No doubt tho...in a lot of people's minds, North Hardin and Meade County would appear to be most favored to take Region 2.

LaRue has some real good wrestlers, too. Should be interesting and competitive.

2) Apollo-1st, NH-2d, MC-3d

3) Fern Creek-this powerhouse keeps rollin

4)  ST X-Rocks

6) Battle between Campbell County and much improved Ryle team-Campbell win out tho-Too deep

7) Wayne County-much better than you might expect-

8)  Harrison County comes out strong in regions to win 1st place

Anyone care to comment on these picks?

1) yes Union all the way

2) I do not know enough to make a guess

3) Fern seems to be the clear favorite

4)St.X and Trinity is going to be another dog fight coin toss, I like, you will lean to X

5) I think Oldham will overthrow the legendary woodford

6) Campbell.....  The question here is who is 2nd? Ryle, Cooper, Scott, or an outside horse like SK or Walton?

7) I gotta go with lafayette

8) no longer a 1 horse race. with Harrison, Montgomery and Johnson Central. But until you take the alpha dog out he's still the alpha dog. going with Johnson

Wayne County has been good for years!  I guess they are  "better than you'd expect" his year because they are a young team.

* this year

The 126-pound bracket in Region 2 has changed.

Alex Lee has had to drop out because of injury, so everyone behind him moves up in seeding. LaRue's Dalton Bell is now No. 2, Taylor's Griffin Hall is No. 3 and North's Jake Burroughs is fourth.

HUGE loss for Meade County at 126-really tough break for Alex Lee. Prayers go out for a speedy recovery and quick return to competition. It does set up some interesting match ups tho. I agree with ky wrestler 96. Wayne county is always tough. They have rolled over lots of teams in duals and tournaments and may be better this season or maybe just hungrier and more competitive albeit a younger team. Don't espect any easy matches from WAYNE County.
