Most Regional Titles by Team

Topic ID: 11639 | 14 Posts

Just wondering if anyone knows where you could find the past results for Regional Team Titles?

Idk but I think Union has 10 or 11 consecutive and 14 all together

Woodford has to be up there

Larue dominated region 2 for awhile

Union's run of dominance seemingly won't end for awhile. But hey even Clarksville's run came to an end, I still remember when that happened.

Good to know but exactly where are those stats kept?   Be interesting to see if there is a correlation between Regional results vs State.

The records will be skewed from the fact of moving to a 32 man bracket for State.

Looks like it only goes back to 1998.

Not sure how accurate they are, which is sad because this is on the KHSAA site.  It says for 1998 that Campbell Co. had Mike Grimmer 2nd and Johnny Williams 6th at 103 lb.  I know some states allow more than 1 wrestler in a weight from the same school, but I didn't think KY ever was that way.

Thanks that is the best I could find too   Wonder if any of the other sports are inaccurate.

Johnny Williams is from Caldwell Co.  If you look in the championship bracket it lists him at his correct school.

I think I look at this link every day... A lot of memories here

How does that skew the regional results?

It skews the results in that the regional of today was the district of old.  Two districts combined to make a region (top four in district went to regional) much like the middle school does it today.

They really didn't get rid of the district tourney they changed the name and got rid of the old Regional tourney.

Which do you combine as the regional champ?  Old districts with new regions or old regions with new regions?

Fern creek should have quite a few champs, region 3 is very weak. Good luck to all making travels this week
