Cutting Weight

Topic ID: 1169 | 4 Posts

Im an a heavyweight tryin to cut weight to be a 215. Does anybody know what I can do?

This is a touchy topic.  Weight loss has given wrestling a bad name for years.

My recommendation would be to eat healthy stay hydrated and work hard in practice.

This topic will be monitored closely

Here's my words of wisdom. I have been eating 6 meals a day, just making them smaller meals for example I wake up to a glass of OJ and a pack of oatmeal. Now granted I only weigh 125 and you are trying to get to 215, but if you just eat healthy the lbs really do fall off, and like grappler said, work hard in practice,  and if u have to do a little extra workout to get ur heart rate up like wake up and run for 20 minutes in the morning or sumthin.  OOO ya and my 6th meal of the day I try to eat at least an hour and a half b4 i go to bed soo i don't sleep on a full stomach.  But ya good luck to you.

ontherise had some great advice.  make your meals smaller, and more frequent.  don't eat junk food and workout hard in practice.  the best thing you can do is try to plan out your food the night before.  never skip meals because that leads to binging and will slow your metabolism down.  also, consider that you will be going through some major cardio workouts in the wrestling room....don't be stupid and starve yourself or cut out all your carbohydrates.  you'll lose all your strength!!!

if you are serious about losing some weight healthy and need a plan, try the website below.  whatever you do, don't go for a crazy crash diet!!!  or do some atkins stuff.  if you're losing a lot of weight (like over 30 lbs)....i'd also talk to a doctor.
