The powers that be at the VHSL decided, because of inclement weather, that all divisions would be one day and single elimination. Fans across the state voiced their displeasure early and often.

What seems like a shortsighted decision comes on the heels of increasing the number of state championship classifications to six, which many in the Commonwealth weren’t happy with either. That is ridiculous. Thank goodness Khsaa has better sense than to enact such a stupid policy. kids deserve more than a single elimination tournament.

We should all be grateful that we received a more reasonable option from KHSAA! What VA pulled is a disgrace to their wrestlers, coaches and high school wrestling as a whole!

Well in the light of this news I am very thankful the tournament was just postponed. But it opens a can of worms for other states with multi divisions to follow suit in the future. Hope not.

They also have 8 man brackets because of the ridiculous decision to split up into 6 divisions, so a lot of really good kids got screwed there including a kid from my sister's high school I used to train.

Doesn't make the KHSAA look so bad now, at least in this regard. I thought they made the right decision in the first place. I'm just glad they didn't cancel it altogether.
