everyone think region 3 is a push over

well its not we had a state champion last year(Joe powers)

region 3 is a good region for indevidual wrestlers not teams so i think that the region team wise isnt that good

yea but one state champ doesn't make you region good it take about two schools. Not one person

no, I don't think they are underrated at all....it is no doubt a very soft region to begin with and I think that everyone would probably agree with it.  Not that there aren't some very good individuals in the region, but team wise up and down is not strong as some others are.

i am talking about last year all of them went to trinity 

yes, that's one year and it won't happen every year, trinity has their own club and should feed off of that for the most part..  They lost their coach and so that's why they went over there.  But the middle school is why they are good now with the other kids that are there.  Need more examples???  South Oldham, Trinity or St. Xavier (club teams), now Moore, Larue, Woodford, a dozen teams in northern kentucky, etc.

yea i know it helps out a whole lot but that don't make teams state champions i know i wish we had  a middle school team

Well 15 of the last 19 years are team state champions with middle school programs.  the other 4 were schools with club programs, St. Xavier and Trinity.  so I think it does make a state championship........obviously.

i would want one @ southern but noone will do it

and i know about all that i am just saying  mostly about fren creek last year  no one that was in middle school went there to high school thats sad  and that would happen to schools like southern

There will never be a team win the state championship that doesn't have a middle school feeder. Not anymore. Fern Creek's wrestlers didn't go to Trinity High. They went to Trinity's wrestling club then to Trinity High. You will see the results in a couple years. Fern Creek's wrestling Club is not nearly what it used to be and you will see the results or lack there of in a few years. You need a middle school feeder to be a force in the future. It is a fact. Very few schools will be at the very top without one. Region 3 has around 12 teams in it and not a one has a middle school feeder. Thats why region 3 is not as good as the rest.

Everyone seems to agree that region 3 isn't the most dangerous region when it comes to overall team compositions. But that doesn't matter when it comes to the overall scheme of things. If you're talkin' about the wrestler quality, we're not as shabby as everyone thinks. Once state rolls around, we tend to represent relatively well. We may not be completely stacked with state placers but we send off a good bunch of solid wrestlers who serve as worthy opponents for any other regions who they encounter in the tourney. :mrgreen:...bam

Ok so everyone agrees Region 3 is not the strongest region, but I really haven't heard people badmouthing region 3 this year. I mean if you just look at the overall state, then ya we are one of the weaker regions in state, but that's just the way it is.  Obviously there are a lot of enthusiastic wrestlers in region 3 and a couple of decent teams, with quite a few good wrestlers, but we just dont stack up against the stronger regions. As far as feeder schools go, that would obviously take time, and a lot of effort, but it could def happen. As far as teams in the south end go, we should look at starting a middle school club team or something so that middle schoolers can have more experience before they enter high school.  But bottom line, Region 3 just doesn't stack up to other regions. The only thning that we can do in the meantime is work our butts off to be better and ban together to make a stronger region.  LOL not sure if that will ever happen but hey it's wishful thinking!!!

Yea i agree with BOP as individuals good but as teams we are just medeocre. So this year lets bring um hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What i think it is that some of the schools are based on football and basketball and no one realy cares about wrestling in mainstreem but i see people in school who i see have pontentail in wrestling, most of region 3 needs a modivation
