Hi all,

The middle school wrestling association is considering hosting a lunch open to all wrestlers, coaches, fans, etc at the h.s. state tournament this year.  I'm still gathering information, but I'm working with the Capital Plaza hotel (formerly the Frankfort Holiday Inn) to have this lunch catered.  I'm trying to find out if this is a good idea or not.  It would most likely be cold cuts, soup, chips, and drinks.  The lunch would be served in a banquet hall at the Capital Plaza.  The money raised would go to help support Team Kentucky!!

All the coaches/wrestlers I've talked to seem to like this idea.  The price range would be in the $10-$15 range.  $5 of each meal would go to the middle school wrestling association to help fund Team Kentucky.  Currently Team Kentucky has only been open to middle school wrestling, but we are open to helping wrestlers of all ages depending on funds available.

What do you think?  Is this something you would participate in?  Please reply to this thread if you plan on being down state this year.  I think it would be a very fun gathering of coaches and fans and an opportunity to mingle and relax a bit in between the morning session and afternoon session down state.

i think it is a great idea i just wish that we could get more young kids into wrestling i think it will make the competition in the next generations a lot stronger and we might be able to compete with some of the stronger states

I'm in.  I'm sure all of the coaches would appreciate a decent meal during those grueling 3 days.

I just heard back from the people at the capital plaza hotel....and they have stated that they could not work out the numbers for this in order for us to make any profit.  Apparently their cost for like a cold cut spread would be over $10 per person.
