Got this text from a Union guy:
"Union County had a strong weekend of wrestling this Friday and Saturday coming away with the Harrison Ten Way championship.
The Braves posted a perfect record of 9-0.
Defeating Fern Creek 54-9, Southridge 61-9, Boonville 70-7, Memorial 62-12, Harrison 70-6, Reitz 75-6, Louisville Trinity 67-9, South Spencer 76-6 and Pike Central 66-15.
Union County had 9 undefeated wrestlers 106 Zeke Escalera, 113 Gabe Adams, 120 Sam Bacon, 132 Saul Ervin, 145 Chance Oxford, 152 Micah Ervin and 182 Avery Buckman. Buckman received the Outstanding Wrestler award for his dominance of his weight class.
Matthias Ervin and Ross Hicks each posted a 8-1 record. Landon Moore and Payton Snyder each went 7-2.
Also competing for the Braves were Demetrius Griffin and Jaycob Ellis.
I missed 2 undefeated wrestlers. Payne Carr 126 and Bryce Sheffer 138"
Payne Carr and Zeke Escalera also competed in Virginia last week at a middle school national duals. Zeke went 9-0 and Payne went 7-2.
Appreciate the info. Would you say Union is a little ahead of where most would thought they would be right now? I get it, they are Union, but they are just destroying people right now.
In Virginia last weekend Zeke 10-0 Gold AA, and Team MOW. Payne 8-2 Bronze AA. The boys wrestled for Miles High Gold out of Denver CO. They won their pool and wrestled in the Gold bracket at VACW National Holiday Duals.
