Seems that none of the sectionals are on track. State Duals are at Lindsey Wilson Jan 28. 

Christian County and Apollo advance out of region 1

LaRue County and John Hardin out of small school Section 6.

Any finals scores??

WC beats OC 36-34

Johnson Central beat Madison Central 41-29

LaRue beat John Hardin, 38-30.

Johnson Central and Madison Central qualified from Big School Section 3, JC won but I don't know the score.

Ferncreek over Meade by 4

34 -26 going into last two matches and Woodford gets two tech falls to win 36-34. Great dual, fun to watch. Oldham Co. is tough once again. 

What were the last two weights?

Is this being held in the sports complex or in an actual gym?  It was a tight squeeze last year. 

What about union county?

UC was no 1 in Region 1 small school.

Sectional 5: I'm guessing Franklin/Desales

From what I hear, desaless is not competing in section tonight at franklin, but not confirmed. That will most likely make western hills 2 behind franklin

This has to be Western Hills first appearance at state duals, right?  Good for them. This is why the two divisions help the sport.  Give more chances for wrestlers to compete on a large stage.

I believe it is, Coach Wilkins and his staff has done a great job. 

The last practice of the season when I wrestled was always in the western hills cafeteria the night before state. That dome gym was a sight to see. Congrats to them for qualifying!

agreed.  Ky wrestling could use a few more guys dedicated to growing the sport at small schools like him and yourself (won't hold it against you for moving back to TC  )

Rumor has it that Meade will bow out this year due to the amount of injuries. It is currently a 50/50 percent chance they will attend.

My question is how did John not get the four seed with a win over Walton Verona. They had to get the most unluckiest draw. 

Only the sectional winners can be seeded. 1/2 from each section are cross pooled.

Meade has confirmed that they will be attending State Duals

I know it looks like John Hardin got the stick on this, but that's the way it's always been done. Since they started this tournament only #1 out of regions/sectionals have been seeded then #2 cross bracketed and randomly drew into pools. That was the case with Oldham/Woodford last year and they met in the finals.

Seed meeting is tonight. Bracket will be posted tonight or tomorrow 

Are the big and small schools champs going to wrestle each other at the end?  It would only be the fifth dual for each team.

My guess it will be up to those 2 coaches at the end. I'm sure that they will let it happen, if both willing

My guess is they would , but it would most likely be a coaches  decision.  I think that's what has been done in the past .

Well it looks like I was wrong. K Shantz may be returning. not sure when. Will have to see if he is in Meads line up this weekend. That's what I get for not hearing it from the horses mouth myself. I apologize if I caused any one any heart burn.

$10, but I believe they are doing a family price. Not sure that cost. Here are brackets with mat assignments and a parking chart. They will wrestle in 2 places, the gym and wellness center. You can see which on the brackets.
