On June 3rd at the Alexandria VFW a benefit is being held for Matt Shearer. 

Matt is fighting stage 4 cancer. 

Matt is the Campbell County High school undefeated Kentucky state champion at 185 in 1985.

He also started the wrestling program at Grant High school and coached their 1st state placer. 

Matt also has a wife and kids who are standing next to him helping him along the way. 

If you don't know mat he is built like a Grizzly Bear but has the heart of a Teddy Bear. 

Please help him with whatever help you can spare, Hopes, prayers, thoughts, meditation, whatever you can to help this great individual in his fight for life.

Matt is a big hearted person,an Athlete Teacher and Coach who has always had a love of sports and.particularly wrestling a great athlete in his time who helped the sport grow and brought it to a school that had never had it before and took its first wrestler to the State tournament  Best wishes to him and his family in trying times .I have been his classmate co worker and Friend we have battled people and even Bears together and I am.sure he will battle this with the fearlesness he has everything else in life ,
