Local High School Wrestling media coverage needs to be addressed! It is time for us to do something about it! Before every dual, tournament or anything to do with a meet we need to contact the local media in masses.Be cordial, be polite and lets get the word out about your upcoming meet. Give  the day, the date, the time, the location & even directions if needed. Pass this on to your parents, brothers, sister and anybody else that can help get the word to the media. During the State Tournament last year there was only one day of coverage on the local stations and it was only 5 minutes worth of coverage.

I really dont think its good for any sport when they shun it to the side and really only give it five minutes worth nearly the whole season, especially since no one really knows what wrestling is like.

No offense, but do you really think any of those TV stations are going to care about HS wrestling? I've never seen any coverage on those stations...

As far as newspapers, we're about the only paper I know of that devotes as much coverage to wrestling. We're the only paper that does an all-area team at the end of the season and I'm pretty sure we're one of the only papers that do full, in-depth season previews each year.
