Woodford County No. 1 again in wrestling
Defending state wrestling champion Woodford County has two grapplers ranked No. 1 in their individual weight classes in the coaches' preseason poll.
The Yellowjackets also are favored as a team to win their 12th overall state title. South Oldham is No. 2, followed by LaRue County, Ryle and Fern Creek.
Five Louisville-area wrestlers are ranked No. 1 in their weight classes, including four defending state champions.
Fern Creek's Caleb Wood won at the 112-pound weight class,
South Oldham's Derek Scott at 125,
South Oldham's Taylor Scherer at 215
Trinity's Mike Clark at heavyweight.
Eastern's Ben Rupp also is tabbed No. 1 at 160.
