Just curios, why eliminate 7th and 8th graders? Just seems if they are allowed to participate in the KHSAA state tournament they would be allowed in the JV state tournament. I’m not lobbying for them to be alowed in, just wondering.
I'm not sure but think the logic has centered around the idea that middle-schoolers have their own state tournament, and many think the JV state tournaments should be reserved for high schoolers who are working hard, and just can't crack the lineup or aren't competitive statewide yet.
