They just were. Brackets will be up tonight. Best middle school wrestler in the state is a 5th seed.

To call a kid that is 15 1/2 a middle school wrestler is a stretch. The rule that allows a kid that age to wrestle in middle school is terrible and needs to be corrected. Most people are sophomores at his age.

Regardless of his age he is in the 8th grade and eligible to compete.  We should be concentrating on wrestling and not a kids age.  This horse is dead.

Agreed. Just saying the rule should change. Not taking anything away from the kid. He’s great wrestler obviously.

High school losses don’t count either, hard to separate and be unbiased...I’m obviously not involved anymore; just a fan these days.  Good luck to all the kids competing!

When you have a win over a high school kid that placed 3rd last year, it should count.

JT Adams got a poor seed last year, busted the bracket obviously and won it.  Rider should do the same.  I hope he goes injury free and is able to finish the season unlike last year.  

Rider seeded 5th shows all I need to know about common sense being used in seeding this year. Healthy, he is the best wrestler in MS.

I don’t remember seeding last year, but I do know Adams was a consensus pick to win it. Rider will do they same. He has wins over Trevor Pogue and Jake Insko. He gave Gabe Adams all he could handle on one foot. He finished 4th at the Southeast Regionals. Not putting him 1st was a disservice to Yost.

When your old enough to take driving lessons you shouldn’t be wrestling middle school kids anyways.

They are not up now. 

On track it says they aren't released to public until 1/30.  Anyone know if that is the definite date or if they will be released earlier?

I printed them last night at 1150- but they are completely gone now. Not sure what is up.

Are the seeds legitimate seeds or is it random draw like the High School? I remember watching Bryce Sheffer vs Trent Johnson wrestling in the quarterfinals on a Friday afternoon. Arguably the reason for legit seeding at state tournaments. I would think track criteria would be easy to use, just like every other tournament. I apologize if I'm speaking out of ignorance. Just my 2 cents.

We only seed the 5 regional champs, the 2nd through 4th placers all fall in line based on how their corresponding regional champion gets placed.  So for instance region 1 may have the #1 champ, and it can sorta screw over the bracket if region 5 has the second best champ, but is stacked at 2nd-4th with contenders 

I personally know of one bracket that has 4 solid contenders, while another region doesn't have a single strong contender.  But I understand why we do this.  It keeps seeding quick and easy without a lot of fighting, and keeps regional #1's and #2's on opposite sides of the brackets. 

Personally I'd rather seed top 8 overall and random draw the rest.
