2025 season is coming

Whats on the discussion board?
Can anyone challenge Union?
Who’s the favorite at each weight?
Who’s the best middle schooler coming up?
What wrestler is the best football player?
What new programs are starting this year?
Are there any out of state transfers coming in?
Any big coaching changes?

I would say JC challenges union this year. Lost one senior from last year and has McCourt back to replace that weight. They finished 2nd last year and had an 8th grader in the finals last year. With Great Crossing losing a lot it might come down to head to head match ups.

I believe Union is returning 9 state placers and JC is returning 8. They got a middle school state champ that transferred in. They also got their starting heavy weight back and McCourt a state placer back. Both were out last season with injury. Union has 4 kids that could win state. Raneys, Jenkins and Rickets. JC will have to find a couple state champs to be in the race.

Prayers for Jordyn Raney. I just seen he had a complete acl tear and will be out. Really hate that for the kid. Could have been Kys first 6 time state champion. But those kids have bigger goals im sure. The rece for a team state title probably just got tighter though.

What 8th grader transferred in?

Harrison Co represented the whole state.

I think there were around 25 kids from Kentucky that competed at IHPO. It was so great to see so many kids from around Kentucky. I saw kids from Johnson Central, Ryle, Walton-Verona, Trinity, Simon Kenton, Scott High, Highlands, Harrison County, Great Crossing, Anderson County, Woodford County, Grant County, Fredrick Douglas, John Hardin, and probably a few I missed all hanging out together and cheering on each other throughout the day!

Congrats to those that placed:
Jackson Wells 116 (Harrison County)- 1st place
George Dennis 129 (Harrison County)-2nd place
Landon Evans 135 (Ryle)-3rd place
Isaac Johns 153 (Woodford)-3rd place
Travis Steiber 218 (Ryle)-4th place
Roman Valera 116 (Trinity)-4th place
TJ Meyer 135  (Walton-Verona) 7/8th place
Kayson White 141 (Highlands): 7/8th place

Multiple wrestlers from various KY teams did.

JC I think will challenge Union this year for a state title. Lots of talent and picked up a new transfer that should help the program as well
