I had a couple of great opportunities this spring/summer to coach Team KY for Heartland National Duals and Fargo.  Both were a blast and it was awesome to watch some of the best young ladies from around the state battle with the best in the USA.  We competed very well as a state and I am extremely excited about the potential we have.  But something I should have known, but failed to fully realize until into the summer, was how vitally important it is for our girls to get on the freestyle boat.  It is so simple.  No matter which style you prefer or which style your coaches push, any girl with plans to compete on the next level needs to start developing freestyle skills immediately.  Plain and simple, college wrestling is freestyle for the women and we all need to do a better job of preparing them for success.

With that I was super excited to be able to be a team leader for the women's team in Fargo.  And to see our relatively small team go out there and have a blast and compete so well made the experience that much better.  We had an awesome coaching staff and expect to take back almost this entire group of wrestlers, plus a lot more, and bring home some hardware.

Any parent or wrestler interested in learning more about freestyle wrestling and being part of KY USA wrestling's "off season" program please reach out.
