top half stacked? if i remember correctly the only good people in the top half are fuller and voth, the rest of the competition is at the bottem. although my memory might be failing me here.

corey mills is a good wrestler, i have wrestled him. he could possibly be top 8 with an upset or two.

I got Lewis losing to Slone in the quarters.

Engle lost to Morlatt and Zeppa just handled him at regionals so how are you figuring this.... Zeppa has also lost to Fuller 2X's... What people don't know is that he had mono the first match and lost by one and then the second time he had an infected hand which caused it swell and hurt... you shouldn't count on Fuller beating him that's all im saying let alone Engle.

morlatt must have been having a bad tournament. morlatt is to good and strong to get handled by anyone otherwise. thats just what i think, any proof to my thoughts?

He definately got handled ask anyone at region 5 for the finals match.He just out pased and out moved Morlatt the whole time... there was no catch or any cheap moves he just physically controlled the match.

They are both extremely tough wrestlers. But if Zeppa was having a "good" day then I can definately see it happening.

yeah. from what i saw of him at the dragon he didnt impress, i really wanted to wrestle him, but got to far ahead of myself and lost in the semis.

i am favoring zeppa to get to the quarters but I'm just saying that he better not look past lucas carmen, that will be a tough match in its own... I see the winner of fuller vs. voth against the winner of Morlett vs. Slone in the finals.

thats the fun of it... thats what makes the couple of days before state so exciting... predicting... dont say we shouldn't predict, you might as well say that you want us to predict more of what you think... you have your predictions, we have ours, anything is possible

If Coty can overcome his leg problem he has a chance at the finals in my opinion. He has what's known as "a punchers chance" in boxing. But only he wrestles. He has the "shooters chance". He's got phenominal take down power and he's got what it takes to upset whoever he face off with. I don't see him as makin' finals as bein' a longshot at all. As long as he makes the other guy wrestle his match and he plays to his strengths I think he's got a shot.

saw wempe at the regionals, he looked very solid plus in his second match he'll probably get ohlman who he's beat 3 times(i think) so who knows

coty hasent made anyone wrestle his match since last year when he wrestled 112. i dont mean to bad mouth him or anything, and i dont mean any disrespect to him, he is a returning state champ and three time finalist and he deserves respect. but he has really let this season go. his injury put him out, and i just dont think he did enough work to come back 100% healthy and 100% ready to wrestle. expecially his endurance.

You're right about conditioning. A wrestler of his caliber shouldn't be coming into a season out of shape like that and then staying there. That could be the final nail in the coffin of his state finals chance if he doesn't do like I said before. He has to control the pace of the match or he's done. Still ain't countin' him out.

yeah, you cant count him out, and this is all an opinion thing. ive wrestled him and the other top competition in state, and in my opinion he's just not there this year.

Why did Lewis forfeit his regional finals match to Voth??

I think Lewis has more potential than anyother wrestler at 125.  I think he is the most talented.  He is not in good shape, but if he decides he wants to win a state title again, I think he will.  If he doesnt give it his all, it wouldnt suprise me if he didnt place.  Matt Slone is a good wrestler, but I dont see him beating Lewis.  I think Lewis is in the finals if he gives a good effort.

i wrestled lewis at WCI, (not proud of it, but im the one who hurt his foot) and he did seem to die in the third period, and than went on to lose to branch in the finals, i honestly do not think that lewis will win state, i think voth takes it, without a doubt in my mind, lewis isn't as strong as he used to be and i don't think he is as dominate, and now he has this "shoulder" injury, i don't know every hard match that comes up he seems to forfeit, but we'll see

Voth definatly has 1st in his hands unless he lets talking go to his head or everyone else steps its up. I'd really like to see isler in the placeing though :mrgreen:

Granted, Coty Lewis is out of shape, and battling some demons, but let us all be real for a moment. The kid is a defending State Champ and a three time finalist. He knows what it takes to make it to the faceoff on day three. He'll suck up his injuries and check his pride. I see him in the finals, and i see him in a close match with Voth.

And as a side note, Lewis wasn't the one who decided not to wrestle in the regional finals. His coaches made that call for him. I was there, and I have to say that the "boos" pooring from the rafters were disgusting. How childish is it to jeer a kid? He's just like everybody else, and if any other wrestler had forfeited their finals match, no one would've said anything. Those Woodford boys work hard like everyone else, and often harder. It's too easy to cheer against the best. I'm disappointed.

I hadn't heard about that.  I'm not a big fan of Lewis (mostly because of his attitude and behavior when things don't go his way), but I can't stand it when fans get on a kid like that, especially unprovoked.  I'm sure Coty has done some things to deserve it in the past, but for forfeiting a match.  Come on.

TO be far Dogpile, look at the coach of the team that chants 'Woodford Sucks'.  I've seen him encourage that type of behavior at the state tournament and state duals.  People have listed him as 'classy' on this site before.  If he's classy then so is Paris Hilton.

WHY does Morlatt have to be sick?    Zeppa has been wrestling for a long time, he's a senior, and has been regional runner up the last 2 years,  Morlatt was 4th in his weight last year!  Why does he have to be sick?  The last time Zeppa and Morlatt met, it was 5-6 Morlatt, this time Zeppa beat him.  I don't get this crap, why can't a kid just be good, why do people always have to goto the injury/sick/joint problems/head case/personal issues/my mommy didn't wipe me nose/ --------------- it's annoying.  Accept the fact that Zeppa was better that day, and don't piss all over a regional championship with a ssstttoooooppppiiiddd opinion such as Morlatt = sick.

Morlatt was sick to his stomach at Union Duals. I feel Morlatt though it's really hard to wrestle when your body shuts down. Mind over matter has to come in.

he doesnt have to be sick for zeppa to beat him. zeppa is a good wrestler, i never said he wasnt, but i think morlatt had to be sick for zeppa to HANDLE him. especially since they wrestled a close match before, with morlatt coming on top, so to go from a one point win, to getting handled, thats pretty hard unless you aren't wrestling well. and i have wreslted morlatt and i know he's better than that to get handled by zeppa. thats all i was saying. now granted, zeppa is a good wrestler, i never said he wasn't. and yeah, he didnt finish higher than me at the dragon, but that's because after i lost my first match to get into finals, i didnt care anymore. it was either all or nothing, and that outlook has cost me medaling in alot of tournaments that i could have very well medaled in. i hope to change that outlook and come back strong next year.

tc125 you can change your outlook before the state tournament. Who says you have to wait until next season? Anywho, both Zeppa and Morlatt are talented wrestlers. I hate the sick excuses too, but sometimes they're legitimate. If those two meet at state, we can put an end to all of this banter. Let's just wait and see. :wink:

Yes Morlatt placed 4th at regions last year BUT it was the most stacked weight class of regionals with 5 top 15 ranked wrestlers in it with Malcolm Jackson, Paul Marks, Taso Thearatos, Tom Kusnir, and Morlatt. Everybody got lucky when jackson didn't make weight and the other 4 got in
