I am just copying a thread about the biggest individual rivalry in region 6 this season. Whats wrestlers do you think had the biggest rivalry in region 8 or old region 4's history. Some quick ones that come to mind are Billy Clark (SC) and Doug Upchurch (WC), John Dials (SC) and Calvin Napier (PCC), William Farrington (WC) and Michael Jackson (Woodford), and I am sure there are others. Some of these were lopsided, some friendly, and some just bitter. What do you guy think?
Biggest Rivalry in Region 8 (old region 4) History?

I think Joey Stepp (SC) and Chris Floyd (Wayne Co.) was a huge rivalry. The met in the District, Region, and State Finals their senior year. Floyd won district, Stepp won region, and Floyd won state on a stalling call with 2 seconds left in the match.
Foylds senior year he won all three. You are thinking of their junior year.
You are right it was their junior year. We had some great matches out of those two. I haven't seen a heavyweight in the state that could last more than 2 minutes with either of them since they graduated.
A good example of a friendly rivalry would be the Chaffin Twins vs. Billy Clark. Sure, they were rarely in the same weight class, but ole Coach Matney loved matching Billy up against his brothers from another county. If my memory serves me right, I think Nick and Heath both won their last matches against Billy. And for the record, when a tag team match was held between the Chaffin twins and the Clark brothers, the twins were victorious via second round technical fall (of course the rules are slightly modified in a tag team match - a technical fall occurs when one team gains a 30 point advantage.) Boy, those were some good times in District 8, Region 4...
Bluegrassbrawler I think there is another set of brothers who would like to wrestle the chaffin twins for their region 8 tag team title!! :-D

what about jason gray? i heard he was a great heavy weight, i never saw him wrestle but his brother is on the team now trying to follow his foot steps.

Gray was tough but I still don't think he was close to the size of stepp and floyd. He wasn't very technical either he just tried to push people around. I wrestled him at bluegrass state games after he won state and I beat him by techfall or really close to techfall. There is no way I could have scored that many points on stepp or floyd.

There have been some good brother tandems in that region, including the Murtons, Muncys, Clarks, Chaffins, Stepps (cousins too), and probably some more.
Jason Gray was a great heavy weight but right after the season he was out of shape again
