Who is going to the national tournament. i would like to see some more kentucky kids go out. Kentucky wrestling has vastly improved and we have kids that can compete at the national level if they would just go out and compete. Freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior Nationals are march 28-30 in virginia beach. The entry fee is $45 per wrestler, you must have a coach. go to this linkhttp://www.nhsca.com/calendar.php. Hurry up, the spots are filling up quickly, they only take 800. You must be a state placer this year. Elliott Martin will be there, who else?

DEREK NICKEL!
great, i glad to hear it, who else???
I saw that Zachary Bontrager at 119 is going to junior nations
Peace will compete at Junior Nationals for sure, it's still up in the air with Reid.
All of the wrestlers who plan to compete, or just some top level guys that want to get a good workout in but don't plan on competing, should all train together somewhere in the weekends preceding nationals. Maybe I could get Barnes to supervise. It could change to different locations each weekend... just a thought. If anyone's interested let me know.
ya coach frank gercac talked about trying to get everyone together training at the same place it would give us al great competition!
is he gunna be the team coach?
thats the last i heard!is he gunna be the team coach?
to bad we have to go the weight we wrestled this year or else id drop for 140
It looks like there will be a training camp at Gray MS, next Ryle HS on March 10th. Hours will be from 10-12 and 2-4. More information to follow when the date and location is firmed up. We did this a few years ago and had a pretty good turn out.
i was talking to bradbury and he said he planned on going to freshamn nationals. why dont we just oranize a team and go up there. just an idea

What weight?
I'll be either 133 or 141 (open division) depending on how hard I hit the weights this spring and summer.
Courtney is going to Soph and i think Parks and Sheehan are going to junior and Starks is going to senior

I thought it sounded like fun before but have never tried it. This year it just so happens that my family vacation is scheduled at the same time they are doing the beach nationals in Myrtle Beach. So I can't oass up the chance to do it. One 2 minute period is right up the alley for old guys.
I was at the Nationals last year in Palm Beach. Matches last no longer than 20 seconds. Its all take downs and pushing out of bounds to wins.
kieth i have room if mark or matt would want to go just let me know
read the new topic for NHSCA. Training camp
I went to the NHSCA site ans signed up but what does TBD mean?...it would be helpful

how do you push out of bounds to win?
They give you a point for pushing out of bounds like freestylehow do you push out of bounds to win?
John Wolsiefers Goin to junior nationals and is prolly goin 152
I thought that you could not wrestle any lower than what you competed at state. I may be wrong.
Seems like Kentucky might be able to show everybody that we do have excellent quality wrestling
Good luck to everyone competing

the rule syas that you are not aloud to bump down a weight class
The rule says a wrestler cannot go down below a weight class he competed at during the season.
So if John ever weighed in this season at 152 lbs. he could go.
I remember Ruschell doing it 2 years ago. He wrestled 112 at Beast of the East and weighed in a few times during the year at 112 lbs.
This made him able to wrestle and place 3rd at Senior Nationals at 112 lbs.
John is going to USAW Nationals in Fargo, he will be in the Junior age group.
They have no restrictions on wt class relative to high school.
He's not going to the NHSCA nationals.
It's the NHSCA event that has the wt class restriction.
im surprised at the low numbers of seniors we have....ben warner is the only senior going right now.
at least a dozen kids are in for Saturday Training.
antonio zeppa is going to senior nationals now. hes been accepted as a wildcard.
does anyone know if the kids wear their high school team singlets or whatever they want?
