Here is a breakdown from this years State Tournament;
Region 1
State Champs: 4
State Finalists: 13
State Placers: 29
Region 2
State Champs: 4
State Finalists: 4
State Placers: 18
Region 3
State Champs: 2
State Finalists: 3
State Placers: 16
Region 4
State Champs: 5
State Finalists: 10
State Placers: 27
out of each one of the region's how many of the placer will be back? i.e. which region do except to be the
toughest.
Ok what region is which. I asked JR. but he doesn't know what region he is in either.
West Region has LaRue (middle school state champs); Union County (club state champions) and Wayne County in it.
Region 2 has the Louisville schools plus all Oldham County schools
Region 3 has Gray middle, Connor, Campbell, and all other northern KY schools
Region 4 has Woodford, all the Lexington Schools as well as Sheldon Clark and McCreary County schools.
This past year the toughest region had to be the western region (Region 1) with LaRue and Union in it. Talk about a regional tournament as just between those two teams you had 9 Finalists and 3 State Champions. I would say that their regional finals were pretty tough as well.
It is all cyclical though. It changes from year to year and next year another region will be the toughest.
