Ranger123, are you upset with Dusty Brown. He went from #2 at 135 lbs to off the chart? I like the low-profile strategy,  but taking him off the radar screen?? Let's at least give him #25 on the list!!!

I think matt sloanis going 130, because he only weights like 140. he told me last year he was not cutting to 125.

No, nothing personal.  While talking to him I found out that his reason for transferring to Campbell County is to start up a cornhole team (he is a world class player; don't let him hustle you).  I don't know if he will even be wrestling.  Since wrestling season is the off season for cornhole he may help me out with the rankings.

Dusty not wrestle this season , now thats a hustle

Why did Dusty move to Campbell Co. anyway?

woo I cant wait until the season starts.  Its gonna be fun watching the rankings change monthly.

Pride comes before a fall.  In some cases we could change that to overconfidence.

How is Caldwells 189 ranked 8th at 189? He was their 160 last year and I don't think he placed at state last year did he? Did he win some big off season tourneys?

The guy a few posts behind me's name is oldgreg. There is a skit from a british comedy show called "old greg". He's a half man, half fish creature that lives at the bottom of the dreaded Black Lake.  Look it up on youtube. It's pretty funny.

hahaha thats pretty funny  :-D

Did you watch the whole thing or the 6 minute version? The whole thing is a half hour.

Vinson was one match from placing at 160 last year.  And 189 doesn't appear to be that deep right now.  Who on the list has proven enough to be ranked ahead of him?

Yea right. Corn hole is my middle name and i've never heard his name around the circut.

Maybe Lousyville is in a different region of the cornhole circuit.  Go Cards!

Look what I did to curley jefferson...

When did he beat Vaughn?  Vaughn wrestled 103 last season with a record of 36-4 going into the state tournament.

Good luck, Dusty.................... Wherever you are. :mrgreen:We will miss you at S.K.  [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

cody martin from apollo beat justin miley at the blue grass state games. justin is ranked at 130. i think cody martin should at least crack the top 25.

The BGSG results show Miley winning the junior 135 weight and finishing 3rd to Hogan and Tucker at university 133.  Where did Martin come in?

ok i guess. cant wait until the season starts.

I dont see a 103 for SK on the rankings. What about Kevin Cooper?

I don't know.  I haven't heard.  Will he be their 103?

Who else do they have?

Who else do they have?

I spoke to Kevin last night at a football game.  He has grown quite a bit actually.  I asked him if he would be varsity 103 this year and he said he's around 110 and doesn't think he could make 103.  He might be at 112 this year.  Look out for him this year in m.s. wrestling.  He looks to be in great shape.

martin beat miley by two points at the very end of the match. im not sure where he finished at but i know he won by two points.

i not sure of the tournament name (get back to yoyu on that) but i did beat him....i no for a fact

Uhmm you never beat robbie vaughn. he wrestling you once and pinned you in the first with ease.. he didnt break a sweat doing it.

you must get your facts straight you never beat him, you never even had a chance from the handshake

ummm ya i did we didnt wrestle until later in the year and i pinned him easy, i even got it on my record page that my coach made, and if any of you all dont believe me i guess ill have to do it AGAIN

You never wrestled him. he was hurt for a while anyways.

ya i do not believe you and no one on this site believes that a no name person like you could beat vaughn who was top ten in state.

and if you two wrestle again i have 1,000,000 on vaughn and everyone on this site would agree with me.

i know exactly who you are too. just wait you will seee.

lol daaang yall are mean

im not going to argee i got better things to do but we will find out in a couple months

:-D

robbie will own john hale and he's going to wrestle

robbie's going to wrestle 112 anyways

didnt he get defensive pinned by whitehouse, and lose by a lot to Elam?

Marc Wright should of been in the finals against justin miley at 135 lbs. He won his first two matches, as did Miley but after his second match the scorer at the table wrote down the wrong name (timothy martin from Daviess county) as the winner even though Marc signed the bout sheet like he was supposed to. When Marc saw the finals match going on he went to the scorers table and made them aware of there mistake, they told him he was right and corrected the mistake by making Marc wrestle the kid that he beat in his first match which he did so Miley had wrestled three matches and Wright had wrestled three matches also. As soon as Marc's third match was over he had to wrestle Miley for first and second place with no rest, while Miley had at least a hour rest before this match. Congratulations to Justin Miley for wining the bluegrass state games he won it on the mat. It's unforunate that this mistake happened but the officials at the scorer's table tried to correct the mistake as best as they could and Miley, Wright and Martin all got a extra match that wasnt supposed to happen. More mat time everybody wins.

Yeah I had an error with one of my matches at the BGSG. I was supposed to wrestle for 3rd and 4th place but it said on the bracket sheet i already wrestled it and lost. This was incorrect and we wrestled and i won. But I just want to know why would they mark a match without a bout sheet?

They did have a bout sheet at the scorers table. It had Marc's signature as the winner but the scorer at the table beside the mat Marc wrestled at wrote down the wrong name, so when Marc took the bout sheet from the scorers table and took it to the table where they schedule matches it had Martin as the winner and so when they they set up the finals match they looked at what the scorer had wrote down and didnt notice that it didnt match the wrestler who signed it. They didnt recongize the mistake until Marc pointed it out to them. Honest mistake it happens I guess, no big deal.

i dont care what you all say i know i beat him last year, and if you call me a nobody see where i end up this year at state, and this nobody is already somebody.seeya

I hope you don't mean that, Region 1 is staaaaaaaaacked at 189. I'm saying he's not good, I just didn't really know who he was. Also you think someone who didn't place at 160 will be in th top 8 two weights up?

punisher you didnt beat vaughn.. i promise you didn't ask anyone that wrestles in kentucky you never beat him. never will.. thats the end.

i will show you this season.

I think you misunderstood me.  Acroos the state, 189 isn't really deep right now.  So yes, I believe Vinson can move up and place.  You are right though.  Region 1 is pretty deep at this weight.

i dont know if Zack can wrestle this year, he might have tore his acl in football practice, they are saying he will be out for 6 to 8 months

140 seems to be pretty balanced across the board. All the 140's are going to put on a good show at regionals.  the only week region at 140 is region 1. in which case i see isaac ervin(union) beating josh king(apollo)

they have people where they don't even wrestle

like jake skinner at 135/ austin jones at 130 are you guys stupid

tremvp135 - I don't think you want to get into an intelligence argument.  You are giving us a good idea on where you stand by making comments like this with no idea what you are talking about.  I would guess that less than 10% of the guys around the state are weighing at the weight they are ranked at right now.  This is where I believe they will end up for the season based on feedback I have received and my crystal ball.

Don't worry about that guy Ranger I'm Jake Skinner and yes I'm wrestling 135 and yes Austin Jones plans on wrestling 130. I just hope the Tremvp135 is not on my team sir. We're taught alot better than that at CCHS. So my apologies IF he's from my team.

Wow. :D

I'm lookin' forward to seein' Coty Lewis and Trey Morlatt wrestle. I think that would be a good match.

it was funny seeing them wrestle in 2004 they both had the long curly hair... it looked like twins wrestling eachother in different singlets

Who won that match-up?

Whoa. I just watched one of JJ Jude's matches and he's slick. That kid is pretty awsome from what I saw considering he was only a seventh grader. I think he'll be pretty awsome in the years to come.

Who won that match-up?

they both won a couple i think, i know that coty won when they wrestled at woodford, but then he lost to caleb wood.

Ryan Harlow #7 189 is now wrestling for johnson central...that should help the team ranking some

Nice Job!

Monthly update. The talk is starting to pick up and it looks like a lot of guys are anxiously awaiting the start of the season. It is getting close.

James Huffine from southern beat shane white of woodford twice at 103. Tech fall at the end of the year.

Also at 103 isnt shawn johnson from lafayette, not seneca??

Shawn Johnson has moved to Louisville (Seneca)

What is the point of arguing between a fourteenth ranking and a 22nd ranking? State only goes back eight places. The best part of wrestling is: rankings dont mean anything. Sure it gives you an idea of where a kid is, but if a higher ranked wrestler does not train, work hard, and want it, a lower ability kid that has put in the hours of running after practice and in the gym, will beat him.

I was just saying that because someone said that james never beat him, I wasnt really trying to change anything. I feel the same way as you though. Sorry man

Wow, that makes seneca even tougher.Good gain for them. Will he be eligible?

We shouldn't get into eligibility issues, but I believe he moved a while back with the full support of his former coach, so I don't imagine there are any concerns.

Speak of eligibility issues is not allowed, but yes. Please read the rules.

Brandon Brack is dropping to 130!

martin is at 119, a returning state champ, and has beaten evans, so that puts him at either 2nd or 3rd for now.

daniels, zarth, martin, evans or

zarth, martin, evans, daniels

i'm pretty sure shane parks will not be back at 119

Oh sorry..

I know eligibility is not allowed on here but let me say...

Shawn moved at the end of last year due to personal reasons. It was a legit move that I discussed and backed with his family. He will be eligibile and Lafayette and its coaching staff wishes him the best.

Coach McCoy

Why is Zach Shaw ranked in front of Judson Pitman in 145?...They have only wrestled one time in their freshman year and Pitman dominated him. Judson also beat Ryan Clark from Eastern this past year who is also ranked ahead of his by a large margin.

Stephen Thompson is ranked 17th at 140, but last year josh king beat him. when they wrestled at oldam county duals. king is ranked 19th.

Coach McCoy,

I would just like to say that it is good to see when a coach is more worried about the kids and the sport of wrestling than their own personal agendas.  I applaud you for that.

Maybe I need to post a disclaimer every single time I update this.  There can be a number of explanations.  But the most common are:  1) No one in the state gets all of the results.  I do my best to research newpapers and track down information from coaches, wrestlers, parents, and other fans.  But, I never have all of the info.  2) You beat Clark and Shaw.  But you were not undefeated.  What if those guys spank a couple of kids who pinned you?  I'm not saying that is the case here, but that happens all of the time.  So you can't just look at one other guy and say "I should be above him".

it is definately refreshing

Youll have an excellent shot at being in the finals if not being a regional champion at that weight. I believe Union is looking at MATT YOUNg and Christian County has Austin Jones. Both are underclassmen with limited varsity experience.

Good luck Brack. Cutting weight was fun. Oh the memories. lol

apollo has cody martin going to 130 he's pretty tough brack. i thought bryce alexander was going 130

Luke Ervin was going 130 from what I've heard. Is this true pridewrestler?

Bryce may be in the 140's or 135, he doesnt wanna cut weight.  I dont know what weight I will be, probably 140 but only time will tell.

Luke's goal is to get to 130. He was stuck wrestling 135 last year due to Isaac wrestling 130 but Isaac can't make that again this year so Luke will be headed towards the 130 weight class this year.

To All:

It is good to wrestle as close to the weight your natural body has developed as, do not cut too much weight (just for the team). Most of you will still win in the weight class you should be in, a few pounds are excepted.

I think KY wrestling has shown that we can wrestle with all the other local states in the lower and middle class weights without going 'Out-of-Bounds' to lose weight.

I said this last year, be healthy, if you are good, you will win!

Just make sure Danger does not send you to a porn site with his attachments, LOL

if luke goes to 130 than is issac going 135 or still at 140.    is jake skinner from christan going 130,135, or 140

Anderson gets no respect at all. Thats upsetting. cant wait till season. These will change alot

I think you need to do more research, Seneca is going to surprise a lot of people. losing only Cheu and Dockery the two replacements will turn some heads and this Team is Hungry With Seniors Martin, Poulton, and Poole leading this insane team. Let them fly under the radar and soon you will see their backside only :-D

I agree, Seneca never gets the press, but they have IMO one of the best Coaches in the state. Coach Anderson has been doing this a long time and its scary but I think he must get better each year cause his teams are always in the hunt. He has a few kids with MS experience but most of his kids dont start wrestling until high school and he gets them up to speed and competitive quicker than any Coach I've seen!

whoever this is dont talk about this any more, I dont need any dramatic trash talking headaches again about seneca this year...

Why don't you give me an education.  It's not like they aren't getting any respect, I have them in the top 10.  In order to be higher the individuals have to be higher.  So why don't you tell me which kids should be higher and why.  You can't just say these guys are hungry (so was I when I got out of bed this morning) and insane.

Seneca will be very competitive again.  I am sure of that.  However, didn't they lose Fuller as well?  That means they lost wrestlers who finished 2nd @ 119 (Chiu), 3rd @ 125 (Fuller) & 4th @ 215 (Dockery).  They did gain Johnson this year and he will more than likely finish higher than 5th @ 103, but losing the previously mentioned wrestlers will be very hard to replace.  They may have their other guys pick up the slack and believe me, I've known Zach Poulton for a very long time.  His parents are family friends and I pull for him every time he wrestles (except against one of my wrestlers of course).  I would love nothing more than for him to win a state championship, but even under the best circumstances, which includes Poulton, Martin & Johnson winning individual state titles, I don't think they will gain enough points from the rest of their wrestlers to finish in the top 3.  It could happen, but it would be very hard.  I'm sure Chiu, Fuller & Dockery's replacements will do just fine, but I would wager they won't finish 2nd, 3rd & 4th in their respective weight classes.  I think Ranger has given them a lot of respect, but only time will tell how they do.  It's hard to give any team more respect than a top 10 state finish.  By the way, I don't think anyone does any more research than Ranger does on the current Kentucky wrestlers so that statement is both ill-advised and just plain senseless.

Yeah Im goin 130 or 135 depends on how far I can go down.

i've dealt with it, just let it go

couldn't have said it better myself dragon master, ranger you have them right where they should be for now, the team rankings look great.

Are my eyes deceiving me?  After going over the rankings, this is what I came up with:

[glow=yellow,2,300]Six weight classes with no one from Woodford County ranked in the top 25.[/glow]

[glow=yellow,2,300]Only five Woodford County wrestlers ranked in the top ten.[/glow]

[glow=yellow,2,300]Only One Woodford County wrestler ranked #1.[/glow]

Wow, Has to rest of the state finally caught up with Woodford Co?
