There has been some discussion on other locations for future state championship
locations....such as Owensboro's Sports Center. Any thoughts on that?

i like the idea of state being in owensboro. there is more places to stay in owensboro than in frankfort.
Did you read my last post? You should have added to that thread. This is basically the same conversation, but it seems other people have the same idea. I would love to see a 2-day state tournament with 32 participants in each weight class at a bigger venue. Of course people had problems with refs. Every ref makes mistakes, but the wrestler should not put himself in the position to allow one bad call to cost him a big match.
NO EXCUSES, 2 day 32 man state tournament, much more exciting and affordable for all schools.
The NEW arena in Owensboro would be nice, but not the SportsCenter. Yeesh. Yuck. No.
Diddle Arena in BG would be nice if the BG community actually cared about wrestling.
The Bank of Kentucky Center at NKU could possibly be the nicest arena in the state. And at 10,000, it wouldn't be that empty.
Are you talking about the arena they are building right now at NKU???
Even if this were true that would cause major travel problems.
4+ hour drives for many of the eastern Ky teams. and 6+ for the western teams.
I'm sure the Nky boys wouldn't mind sleeping in thier own beds for once however.
