What does everyone think of them, one mistake that i saw was that Scott Wheeler from LaRue isn't ranked.

What happened to Ben Rust and Eric Bryant at 130 ? Both were top 5 finishers last year, not even ranked. Man, have they BOTH been wrestling that miserably ?

Rankings souldn't have gone up untill after this weekend. Campbell County beat Ryle and Ryle barely beat Scott. Maybe whoever did the rankings this year doesn't pay attention to wrestling.

The Rankings shouldnt have came out until after the woodford county tournament,Thats where all the competition is!!!!

I personnal talk to Coach Coomes yesterday about how many people send him any results. Hardly NO-ONE, Everyone wants to keep secrets, or mad they lost.

The only results he has to work with is what is posted. NO one has sent him any individual match ups showing where someone beat someone better.

If you don't like it then send both dual and individual results to coach, if not you don't have any right to say anything

I don't find it reasonable to assume every team in the state is either mad or keeping secrets, since you said no one sent results and generalized your statement to them all. Criticizing the lack results is fair, but implying a motive as you have is kind of out there.

He must have forgot to rank Rust and bryant at 130 ,bryant is 18-1.He has won every tournament this year,with 1 mow award.He has even teched some of the guys ranked at 130 this season.Both should be top three.The results are on this web site.Everyone needs to help easterns coach so he can do a beter job.

The top 3 guys they do have are very worthy at 130. I do wanna avoid saying this guy or that guy didn't deserve what they ranked him.

i wouldn't get all excited about the CC vs. Ryle results....both teams had good wrestlers out of their lineup. I would still say Ryle is slightly better than them, but CC has a good team. Also, about Ryle barely beating Scott...Scott has what appears to be a very solid team this year. I'd look for some of their kids to surprise some people this year! They beat SK really bad on Friday night. I'm not sure of the final score, but Scott looked really good against them.

I think the rankings are as good as they can be with the information provided. Its a tough job and overall I think its done well, theres always going to be critics even if all teams reported!

I have a few questions for anyone who has the answers:

1) Is there a schedule of when the new rankings are due to be published?

2) Is there a schedule of when new ranking information needs to be submitted to the coordinator for the next published rankings?

3) Are teams asked to submit all results or just wins over ranked opponents?

I would like to see the Coaches establish a way to publish ALL results similar to KHSAA Football, Baseball, Softball etc.... those sports have websites and a database where results are published by team and you can sort thru them by team, date etc.... A database for wrestling maintained by coaches or team appointed statisticians on a website accesible to the public could be used to support the rankings!

I don't think that there is any time line, once you have any results they just have to be submitted to Coach Coomes, his email address is list under the coaches web page or even just past it along to him at any tournament.

Both, anything to make the rankings more accurate instead of guessing.

grapplinfan, yes I'm riled up over this. It was dissussed before about ranking and how accurate they are. The kids know who they have beaten good or ranked and anyone can submit results. We have had how many tournament so far:

November 22 Tournament McCreary Co.

Only two of them were sent to coach coomes, and I sent them. They are to many parents, wrestlers or coaches that could help the system. But Coach Coomes has done a great job, with so little information. :evil:

I'd say its the result of people assuming someone else took care of sending them, not everyone in the state displaying a petty character trait. You lost me there.

I get the air of how dare you question them because Coomes worked hard on them. Points well taken, "secrets may have been over the top" but, some kids aren't going to send in something that may take them out of the ranking.

Criticizing the ranks isn't wrong, that's why they wrestle the matches. But, to many kids see the rankings and lose matches before they ever step on to it.

My Focus point is if Coach Coomes doesn't recieve accurate data the results will always be off.

Hey I wrestled for Coach Coomes last year and I've been noticing for a while how alot of you are upset about rankings and think they are unfair,I am here to let you know that being the busy man he is,he does support and put %100 work into the rankings but it starts with you,Email him results and who should be ranked and season records and state placings and everything,I am your source for that,please email me anything you need to get to him,we talk oftenly while I am in college and ge gets all of the emails and I'll make sure he gets them. Now if you dont give the things to me then dont be upset about the rankings,because when it all falls down our state tournament isnt ran well either.

I know some coaches that have sent in duals, and have not shown up on KWCA website.

I also know that many coaches do not send in their results. I don't think it is trying to hide anything. It's mostly because they don't like or believe in rankings, many believe it is just a distraction to the kids. I know a couple of coaches that try to deter their wrestlers from getting involved in these wrestling forums, because they think it is a distraction to them.

That leaves it up to us fans to keep things updated. I however don't believe that Mr. Coomes would except results from anyone other than coaches or people he knows.
