Which school's are considered to be classified as "small schools" for the small school state title?

Union & Larue that i know of.

When the coaches association decided to split the divisions they came up with a split of the schools.

At that time they split them equally in half.

If what I have been told is correct. The smallest large school at the time was Dixie Heights and the largest small school was Holmes. 

I don't believe that the division has been changed.  The new schools fall into their respective categories determined by their number of students that were in those two schools that year.

Maybe we can get a list from some of the coaches that head the coaches association.

They didn't hand out a small school state title last year I guess because Union won it overall. But they did give out a large school state title to Woodford Co.

    The small school and large school state championship is not KHSAA sanctioned.  The Kentucky Coaches Association hands out these awards.

    The KHSAA only hands out the State championship that is not have divisions.

    You are correct both awards are handed out each year but only one is usually announced because the other winner also won the KHSAA championship.
