One of the pools is Seneca, Central Hardin, Moore, and an Indiana team
Christian, Holmes, and Simon Kenton are another.
There was a change in the pools.
Pool A (Remained the same)
Woodford Co.
Oldham
Scott
Franklin Co.
Pool B (Change in Bold)
Larue Co.
Corydon Central
North Oldham
Holmes
Pool C (Remained the Same)
Seneca
Central Hardin
Moore
brebeuf Jesuit
Pool D.(Change in Bold)
Simon Kenton
Eastern
Christian Co.
Western Hills.
Holmes was switched with Western Hills because we will be dualing Simon on the 12th and on the 14th at the NKAC duals. And we opened the Western Hills duals with Eastern last week.
Oldham and North Oldham switched pools.
Is miller from Woodford gonna match up against martin
if seneca wrestles woodford it will be in the finals.
is the bracketed (championship) portion 1A vs. 1B and 1C vs. 1D or something else???
woodford is the #1 seed
seneca is the #2 seed
Simon kenton is the #3 seed
and larue is the #4 seed
if all goes according to seedings, then woodford and larue will meet in the semi's, and Seneca and simon kenton in the other.
So the pools will wrestle teams in their own pool and then match each pools respected places against each other?? Such as 1A vs. 1B, 3C vs. 3D
woodford is the #1 seed
seneca is the #2 seed
Simon kenton is the #3 seed
and larue is the #4 seed
if all goes according to seedings, then woodford and larue will meet in the semi's, and Seneca and simon kenton in the other.
considering larue is the state dual champion, how did they end up at 4th?
they lost several senior key wrestlers
i see seneca winning the duals myslef
see any good match-ups during the tournament?

Actually, it's doubtful Zeppa and Parks will wrestle b/c they are in different pools. However, if Lewis can make it down to 130 by this time, he will wrestle Morlatt who is more than likely already at weight. I'm pretty sure he weighed around 132-134 last year, naturally. Zeppa v. Carmen will be an interesting match, as they both are quicker wrestlers on their feet not really relying on their strength and both throw in their legs rather effectively. Assuming the top seeded teams move on, I think North Oldham v. Central Hardin will be a really good match, with neither teams having very many "top notch" wrestlers but a few guys who are pretty darn good and have a decent chance at placing 5-8 this year at state. My money is on Seneca to win the whole thing, as I think a lot of Woodford wrestlers won't be at weight yet.

I didn't see Coty Lewis name on the Woodford alpha weight yet :?
Doesn't he have to do that before he wrestles

They have a number of guys who don't have their test in the system yet. Not sure what is going on; probably just getting everyone "lined up and ready" for it.

Probably trying to get them down to weight, so it doesnt tell them Lewis's lowest weight is 145. lol

They were in the same pool but I guess the pools got switched again

Trey will not even be wrestling due to school problems I'm not going to say and as for Lewis I dought if he is down to weight yet but i know he isn't that far from 130 naturally anyway so I'm sure he could be. Zeppa and Carmen won't wrestle because they aren't even at the same weight so I'm not sure how that match up got brought up???
What about Warra/ Vaughn? that should be interesting, I like the way they both wrestle.
Anyone online with some results?
OLDHAM COUNTY SUPER DUALS
BUCKNER
Elliott Martin had a great showing today, he weighed in at 117.5 and bumped up to wrestle #4 ranked Ross Engle at 125 in a 4-0 decision. It was a very controlled match, Engle never came close to scoring a point and martin nearly turned him several times. Martin also wrestled Ethan Miller at 119, martin won by pinfall in 40 seconds. Can't wait to see him take on Demery this Wednesday. Can't really recall any of the other good match ups.
North Oldham had a pretty good day. 3-2
Individual Highlights:
125
Andre Zeppa DEC 10-4 Ross Engle Cent hard
Andre Zeppa Maj DEC 14-2 Steven Supe Scott
135
Dan Thomson Maj DEC 11-2 Steven Rivera CH
Dan Thomson DEC 10-6 Justin Milley Scott
Team Scores:
North Oldham 63
Corydon Central 18
North Oldham 51
Scott 20
Central hardin 37
North Oldham 35
North Oldham 72
Holmes 6
Larue Co. 54
North Oldham 18
Some observations from the bleachers:
I saw the Martin/ Engle match. Martin dominated the whole match, controlled every second of it. That kid is a beast. He didn't look like he was even sweating at the end of it.
Zeppa/ Engle was pretty much the same, Zeppa controlled the entire pace.
North Oldham's 135 Thomson handled Rivera from CH as well. I didn't see the match with Milley but I heard he handled Milley too. Someone else said there was some beefing going on after the match.
Woodford was missing Counrtney, Parks, and Lewis. I think they came close to losing to OC and I think they lost to Simon Kenton. From what I saw, Simon Kenton was pretty estactic before the teams shoke hands.
Larue looked really good, especially Miller.
Eastern looked like their kids weren't down to weight yet.
Seneca beat Woodford for third place, they lost to Larue in the semis.
Christian Co. faired well.
team wise we went 3-2
win against western hills, eastern, and scott

112: Leavell 4-1 beating kyle terry CH and loosing to robby vaughn
119: demarco 1-4
125: Thomas 4-1 beating Gabe Supe by pin, the simon kenton kid dunno if it was norberry and loosing a very close match to Engle.

135: Jake Skinner 5-0 beating Justin Miley from scott by major and steven rivera CH
140: Austin Jones 3-2
145: Robert Geralds 2-1 beating James Shinault

That was Steven Supe not Gabe Supe. gabe Supe didn't wrestle.
Seneca beat Woodford for third place, they lost to Larue in the semis.
Who was in the finals?
Who did Woodford lose to in the semi's,
Any individual results from the Seneca vs Larue like the other posts :?
Did Poulton and Miller match up?
Not unless Miller went to Poulton's house.
Did Poulton and Miller match up?
You're a little incomplete and inaccurate, Bear. McNeely didn't get pinned -- he bit his opponent. Not excusing that at all. In fact, it was inexcusable. However, McNeely was winning the match before he did it and likely would have won, which also means Eastern would have won the round. And Tom Shirey won decisively at 145, pinning his opponent. You somehow failed to recall that.
Why would I mention Tom Shirley at 145? He wrestled our JV guy and our JV guy was giving him a run for his money before he got caught. 2nd of all when did i ever say McNeeley got pinned? I said he beat Phil Harrison. The reason he beat Harrison was because HARRISON BIT MCNEELEY,we saw the bite marks. If eastern was that close to winning they should have thought again before they bit McNeeley. But we meet up with Eastern two more times this year (Caldwell Co. Inv., Big East Inv.) so we'll def. see this matchup again Matmama.
it was larue and simon kenton in the finals
Does anyone know what the final team standings were for this? Something like:
1st - Larue
2nd - SK
3rd - WC
etc...
That would be nice to know.
1st larue
2nd sk
3rd seneca
4th woodford
as for the rest i do not know
1st larue
2nd sk
3rd seneca
4th woodford
as for the rest i do not know
Cool, thank you.
Bear,
You should check your facts a little more closely. Tom Shirey Pinned your JV wrestler at 140 and your Varsity wrestler at 145! He pinned your JV man in less than a minute and your Varsity man in third period. Maybe your Varsity wrestler was JV also. It was a good match and close.
Also Calvin McNeely beat Mikal McNeely because Mikal McNeely bit Calvin McNeely which is an embarassment. But our whole team didn't do it and I hope people won't judge the rest of the team harshly.
Your 152 Wrestler pinned Ryan Clark.
Phil Harrison pinned your 171 wrestler. Phil is a great guy and didn't bite anyone and shouldn't be blamed for someone else's bad behavior. I wouldn't want people to think poorly of Phil and possible have a grudge for something he didn't do. I reviewed video of all of those matches this morning so I'm pretty sure what I'm posting is accurate.
You're right though your team did pretty well and deserve to be proud of their accomplishments. I also commend Calvin for his cool head during a display of poor sportsmanship!

You have a little bit of a mix-up on your names, Cory Armstrong pinned Ryan Clark of Eastern. Mikal McNeely wrestled 160 and was DQ'd because of the bite. Phil Harrison was wrestling 171 and pinned Christian's 171

did i really read that trey cant wrestle this year?
woodford is the #1 seed
seneca is the #2 seed
Simon kenton is the #3 seed
and larue is the #4 seed
if all goes according to seedings, then woodford and larue will meet in the semi's, and Seneca and simon kenton in the other.
I see those seeding meant nothing.
Not bad for a fourth seeded, graduated everyone :-o
I think many people are over looking good old Gary and gang in Larue

Seneca beat Woodford for third place, they lost to Larue in the semis.
So what did Woodfords line-up look like?
Are they missing many :?
So what did Woodfords line-up look like?

Miller was the only person I recognized on the mat. He got pinned by Elliot Martin. But other than that there was no one. Courtney, Parks, Sheehan, and Lewis were all in street clothes.
In the Duel between Larue and seneca the final score between carmen and Harper was 7-3 they both wrestled pretty well.
Too me it looked like carmen was very out of shape for it even being early in the season.
I don't know just thought that kind of surprised me.
There is a rumor that some wrestlers at Woodford are waiting to take their fat test until they get their weights lower. The new weight rules only allow so much loss a week so that would be a way around the rule. We all know if course rumors are just that, RUMORS. But one does wonder why Woodford would be keeping some of their best wrestlers off the mat!

Exactly rumors are just rumors so they shouldnt even be repeated.
Lewis is out because of grades(again). Sheehan got into some trouble and will be back in a couple of weeks. Not sure about Courtney and Parks.
