What is the record for most state champs in a single tournament? If I remember correctly I think it was like 2005 Woodford Co with 6? Seems like Union could certainly make a run at that this year. Just a crazy lineup for them.
Question for GOO

Did some digging. 2 teams had 5 state champions in one season
1964 Ahrens Trade (only 12 wt classes) Followed up the next season with 4 champions and 4 runner ups.
2006 Woodford County (14 wt classes)
Union county had 6 state champions in 2020, along with 3 second place finishes.

Christian County was ridiculously good that year, but finished almost 100 behind Union. And just imagine, the Raneys were a year too young to wrestle up that year. With Eckman and their size likely only 1 could have slid in, but...
Jeeze. I wasnt aware that they broke the record in 2020. Seems a real possibility they could break it again this year. Too difficult to ask GOO to look up but I would be curious to know the record for finalists as well. I believe their lowest ranked wrestler in the recent rankings is 8th, with all top 5 after that.

Thank you very much for the answer as well GOO! Much appreciated

It was a vocational school in Lou. I believe they only competed in 64 and 65. Closed in 1980.
