Rebel Rankings #2005-2

Topic ID: 294 | 36 Posts

The second edition of my rankings are included below. I have included the top 12 this week. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks I will have enough information for a top 20. Thanks for all of the feedback. Keep it up. I have yet to see many results from the Bruin duals, but with the WCI and Wayne county duals this week things should start to get more interesting. And before anyone starts screaming about Murton, I'm not moving him until he at least weighs in a few times for 135 or there is more solid reason to believe he is dropping.

I only see two problems where two kids I have seen wrestle are pretty good and not rec'ving and votes is DERRICK NICKEL from Doss who has beat several of the people on your list is 215 and has only lost 1 match this year. And the second is BRANDON CARTER from DOSS 189 who is still undefeated These kids have wrestled teams from IN and around Jefferson County and are damn good

I think these rankings are good and I don't think your wasting your time.

iceman,

Who have they beaten on the list? When I look at the Lonesome Inv results it looks like they were not in the finals and the tournament wasn't exactly stacked at those weights. Were they in the consolation finals?

Nickel lost his only time there and finished 3rd The kid he lost to he met agian and pinned him He has beat the central kid Carter was not there he had to take act test that day Since then they have wrestled Jeffersonville IN ,Southern, PRP, Moore Team tourament, Central

Got it. Thanks for the update. That's what I need to hear.

Individual ranks aren't bad ... but ... Campbell Co beat Harrison Co in a duel looking at the team ranks.

The team rankings are a state tournament finish, not head to head in a dual.

Ranger123:

Deon Chaney of ferncreek beat wise of eastern at caldwell county in double overtime. But deon is bumping down to 189:)

WOW  Are you serious?

That is suprizing because Jacob Watson (McCreary) beat Deon Chaney like 11-3, before he cut to 189, and I didn't think Jacob could beat Wise!

does anyone know anything about the Desales team this year do they have a 275 class

I think that chaney can beat watson know. Not to make any excuse but chaney wasn't focus at the time when he wrestle watson.

If deon has dropped to 189 maybe we will see them wrestle again...Jacob has dropped to 189 and he is a beast... You will not find very many 189 pounders that are as strong as jacob and he can be a technical wrestler when he needs to be

i have to disagree with the 130 rankings i belive jackson should be ranked higher oldham countys 130 should be ranked and christian countys 130s beaten the seneca 130 Also cameron bibbs has beaten tyler weldon i belive so i think he should be ranked above him also cory armstrongs beaten the seneca 145

Deon beat Wise, and I am looking forward to seeing him and Watson wrestle, I think it will be a better match than their last.

At 215 Stone has bear Wise every time they have wrestled usually with a decent score. But these rankings are the best i have seen in awhile.

colonel130,

Who does Malcolm move ahead of? Parker is the clear #1, IMO. Peace appears to be a clear #2, IMO. Rust has only lost to Peace, that I know of. Plus, he has lost to Bowlds. You can maybe argue Rust is too high, but that is it.

As for Oldham, who is at 130 now. I saw Morlatt get hurt a few weeks ago. Is he back? If so, he will be in the rankings. No one else has done anything to be ranked.

As for the other 130's and any rankings below the top 8 at most weights, these are a real stretch. It will take a few more tournaments and guys settling into their weights before the #9-20 kids are more solid.

Who does Cory Armstrong wrestle for?

im not sure if he's came back yet this is the first i've heard he's been injured if i had known that i wouldnt have mentioned him. i understand about the other 130's and what not. Cory Armstrong wrestles for Christian County he's beat ranked people last year and this year.

Teresa Baker,

Did Ballinger go 5-0 against Trinity (Clark), Oldham Co (Young), Ft. Knox (Bailey), and 2 others? Or do I have the teams wrong?

Has Coleman actually wrestled 125 yet? Keep up the good work! :D

Morlet broke a collar bone i was told, i saw the injury happen ... it was in a duel against a kid from Roger Bacon OH. Oldham came up to wrestle Campbell Co and Roger Bacon that night, and it was his first match. If he did break it, i don't see him back anytime soon unless he's superhuman. And yes, he was someone to fear ... that kid looked explosive and strong.

yes cory armstrong wrestles for christian county. last year he beat mitch ervin 9-4 and then this year he pinned the seneca 145 at oldham county duals. he went 5-0 on the day. he lost by 1 to ford who beat barger from fern creek pritty bad i heard.

As far as I know, Coleman hasn't wrestled a single match at 25 thsi year. I know he was 40 at the Orange and Black, and 30 at Caldwell's. I don't understand why he is still being ranked at 25, am I missing something. I know its the possiblity that he could be "settling-in" But at the Caldwell he told me he couldn't make 25. I don't know if he was referring to that specific day, or at all.. :?:

Tiger06,

I guess I gave too much credibility to a previous post regarding intended weight classes for some of the Caldwell guys. In an early season dual they referred to Coleman at 30 and Leach at 25, but both planned to drop. I know Leach has made it, but it appears Coleman is having trouble or doesn't intend to drop. We'll give him another week.

give him a break guys, these rankings are great.

Ranger 123,

Clark(Trinity) hasn't lost this yr. to anyone.

Bowlds beat Coleman at Mater Dei today, I believe 8-4.

I'd be surprised if Coleman could get to 125 lbs.

Also, is Eric Bryant going 125 now?

Yes Bryant is at 125 he wrestled at that weight today at wayne county

Based on latest results, i'd have to put Wasson and Butler up to 4 and 5 at 130. Those two could go in either order, i haven't heard any head to head results. Butler beat Jackson this weekend, and Rust beat Wasson in a second tight match they've had this year. It also sounds from the Bourbon bash results Wasson and Butler are on even footing as the winner, bryant, had tight matches with them both.

When it comes to size, Wasson looks huge for a 130 pounder and is a handful physically. I haven't seen butler wrestle so i don't know ... so i'm not deliberately ignoring him ... just ignorant on what he does out there.

Ranger123,

Medical update:

Matt Baker 160 from North Hardin reinjured his medial meniscus and is out for season. He will have surgery soon, a repeat of last year. We've enjoyed watching your rankings, and keep up the good work.

See you next year...
