who do you all think will be the top 5 at each weight class?

Simple,

Take the top five of each weight class "minus seniors" move them all up one weight class and you have a preseason best guest :!:

1/3 of those kids won't even be in that weight class come Dec :!:

If your looking for you name, hope you got a medal last year at state :twisted: If not, you have to prove yourself by beating someone that got a medal last year to move up.

Bottom line -- preseason is a SWAG :roll: Everyone moves around in the weights and until Jan, rankings are EGO :evil:

And they don't mean sh__t

Regionals give you a better chance based on place, but state is where it matters.

You can beat someone two or three times during the season, but if you lose to them at state "YOUR OUT" and they continue.

State is the only tournment that matters, and the best kids still get screwed by the computer somestimes and others get a break.

Just bust your butt and work hard and don't worry where your names is, the true champion is the guy standing on the top spot on the platform come the end of Feb. "AND he may not even be the best kid, he was just that day :wink:

You're not completely right either. I saw Paul Marks ranked above Ashbrooke (i didn't agree with that i might add) in the pre season rankings a coach put on the former site. Coleman was also ranked at 125 ahead of Baines and and Ashbrooke and he didn't place. And Marks didn't place either, that kind of screws up the hypothesis that state finishers minus the seniors generates the preseason rankings. Although, for the most part you're right about how they're put together, but there's some exceptions.

Bottom line the preseason rankings are put together by the Eastern coach and he only can rank what he knows :idea:

My Preseason 119 ranks if I were to pick.

I don't believe Miller is the best of these ten. He may have even lost to some of these guys; but, he was the state runner-up and deserves his name on top until some one knocks him off or someone else earns the top spot. One problem is coaches don't get all the results to the eastern coach so he picks them based on what he see at tournments or others telll him :!:

Coachs could make the ranking alot more accurate if they would ALL give input:!:

The coaches say they don't care about rankings; but, they are the first ones to want to use them for seeding :shock:

Yeah, i agree nobody knows where all those kids are gonna end up wrestling. I actually find it more fun to speculate about what class guys are gonna wrestle. Anticipating big matchups you didn't get to see the previous year is quite fun at times.

Coach Canter will make the right decision and guide both Ozzy and Stacy which I think both are senior's.

They say Ozzy weight around 140 :?: to drop 15 pounds is a big drop.

Don't know what Stacy weighs and I don't know if he can get back to 119 :?:

Stacy will go farther at 125 than at 130.

If Ozzy can get to 125 without killing himself; yes, he will be a top contender at 125 with several other kids :idea:

But Ozzy needs to talk to Bryant about cutting that much weight. Bryant would have been tougher at 125 "strong" than 119 drain :!:

Similiar for Coty Lewis he wrestled at 135 at the Kentucky games, did he cut anything to make that :?: DOes he weigh less and just didn't want to match up with Warner and Bryant, who know :?: Maybe someone from Wooodford can shed some light on the subject :!:

oh man, are those ever bad! no offense to whomever does those....but Ryle at 4th? Come on! I know they got some question marks, but they're going to be STRONG this year!

i dont agree with the rankings either i believe that Union County will be in the top 5. we will have a strong, experienced team and in my opinion we will be alot better than last year. we placed 7th missing the top 5 by 9 points. they also have matt eck ranked above me and sam Schuerer from Ryle when Eck didnt even place.

According to these rankings 52 and 71 will not be very strong. My pick at 71 is Ashworth. He gave me a better run for my money then Jones did.

Scheuer placed. If you're the Union Co 112, don't you remember beating him in the 7th/8th place match ?

Although if you did beat him, he shouldn't be ranked over you.

Eck did pin you at state though so he does deserve to be ranked.

Sam Scheuer is from ryle not cambell co. the rankings say hes from cambell county

I think some of the rankings are depending on where everyone will be exactly,and Nate Johnson did he beat Golsby any???? And Why should Union County be at the top,they only have Carr and Mitch,no offense to the others,as theyre lead guys,and Ryle is great where they are 4th in the state is not bad at all,losing Ruschelle may have taken them down some
