Does anyone have information on the JV Regional tournaments and JV State tournament and dates?

Does anyone have information on the JV Regional tournaments and JV State tournament and dates?

I need Region qualifiers if you have already had your region. I still have not received any correspondence

from region 1 and 5.

JV Regionals

Once again 9-11 graders only. If the kid participated in last years

State tournament he is not eligible for this years State JV tournament.

Coaches, please do not send kids who you know have no business there.

Please do not send true varsity wrestlers. We all have kids who fill a

spot just because no one else is there, those kids are fine. Any other

suggestions on eligibility?

Regional set-up:

It needs to be a 16 man tournament to avoid some 5 match rules and to be

ran in one day. In that case top 2 in each region will advance to State.

You can do traditional tournament format or a round robin format to

determine if you wish. 1 person per school per weight!

Sites and Dates

2: Jan 23 at John Hardin

4: Jan 15th at Moore

5: ???

6: Jan. 11th at Campbell County

Im not sure if there will be one for region 1

Once again 9-11 graders only.  I got that part.

Issuse:  If the kid participated in last years State tournament he is not eligible for this years State JV tournament.

So you can particpate in the JV Regions-State and then go to the High School Regions and State this year :?.

You can wrestle varsity all year and still participate in both the JV and Varsity events.

What doesn't make sense is if the kid went to state last year in a weak region and/or weigh class, 0-2, 2-2 or whatever and this year he moves up in weight or just can't make the varsity line-up and wrestles JV, Why can't he or she participate in the JV EVENT?

The rule should be NO seniors GOT IT.

Don't penalize the kids due to circumstances they can't control, let the kids wrestle.

I think the intent on if they went to state last year was they will probably be going back this year and won some matches at the varsity level.  I really doubt that the situation you are talking about would affect more than one maybe two kids, it would be odd for that to happen.  It's possible that they may participate in both, but the intent is to get some jv kids some more matches and have them wrestle some competition at closer to their level than just the varsity events they have been thrown into all year.

I understand if you went to state last year and you are one of those kids that was bumped from the varsity line-up this year for whatever reason, you should be able to submit to a committee or have someone apply the common sense rule :?

Just a blanket rule seems harsh.

Where is the JV state being held this year?

Where is the JV state being held this year?

Thank you kdsmith.

What is the date for the JV State tournament?

What happens if 1 and 5 don't hold a JV regionals?

Do their kids miss out? Or can they just send some anyway?

Region 7 is having theirs tomorrow at Franklin Co high school

No.  There has to be a qualifier.  Only 2 qualify from each region at each weight.
