its not a dual tourney it is sub ppols then individual

Ooop's, reading the whole post would have helped.

If it were duals that would be my prediction OK  :-D

yeah

so, you wrestle everyone in your pool. then, after all the pools have been completed they take the wrestlers who have a 3-0 record after the duals and put them in a mini-tourny for top 4. the kids with 2-1 records wrestle for 5-8. the kids who go 1-2 or 0-3 are done after that.

Can a kid bump weight

I.e Can Zarth bump up in Pool B to wrestle Zeppa at 125, and then go back down to 119, or is he stuck at 119?

he can i believe but he must win his weight class by criteria then by possibly beating the other 2 teams and one of those 2 beat NO 119

neat.  I could see Zarth doing that.  or Ross Carp Fraser too, bumping up to Zarth.

could set up for some very big matches

True.  I imagine you normally only get 3 in a individual tourney. :)

Most of the time a touney during season a wrestler in the championships will get 3 to 4 matches unless it is a larger two day event tourney

Oh i remember, don't worry.  Wrestle twice early in the day and then sit until it's dark, and wrestle again when everyone's watching.

I wouldn't know.  Just kidding.  It did suck sometimes.  I always had a real good team around me though, so someone was always wrestling.

very funny lol....but yeah i think it is a great feeling to have a good team around you makes winning way more sweeter when you are in the race of things

i dont see any wrestlers bumping around, because if one wrestler has a 2-0 record and the other has a 3-0 record then the 2-0 record would be going for 5 through 8th because that record is worse. i dont think that a wrestler would risk doing that just to wrestle someone else from a different weight no less. the wrestler they were bumping away from would have to more than likely have already lost a match for that to happen.

I thought this was a great format.  I'm surprised more schools don't host events like this.  Good job to Lafayette & their staff.  It was a very well ran tournament.  In my opinion.

yes I agree  just very longggggggggggggggggg

It's a great format for early season tournaments when it is important to get kids a lot of matches.  You do have some weight class pools that have several top wrestlers in the same pool which really is unfortunate for a late season tournament.

It does throw off the rankings when good wrestlers take 5th cause they didn't make it out of their pool.

No, as long as I get the brackets (and I have them), I take into consideration how that all played out.  Same deal with the 5 star.
