A little more of a comprehensive ranking update here. I pulled out anyone I did not see on a roster. And will likely pull anyone that I don't see results for by the first week of January. I'm expected to see a number of weight changes coming in the next few weeks. Still a couple weights that need to be filled out as we see more competition and results in the system over the next couple weeks.

Keep an eye out for both Colin combs (215) and Kasey Conley (190) from Perry County Central (Region 8) they’re both now sitting at least 10-0 if not more wins I’m not 100% sure but I know neither have lost.
Keep an eye out for Chase Stacy from Martin County at 150 and Carson Gillum is out for the rest of the season due to an ACL tear

Stacy lost to number 29 ranked Chase Gillum by techfall right? Didn’t know who he was just went and looked at his track. Maybe Gillum is underrated at this point.
M
Chase Gillum is extremely underrated. I guess he'll have to let his wrestling speak for him.

Ironically enough, that's what everyone does.
Fairdale has 2 ranked at 120??
113 paul Dunbar is at 120 now
As I was sitting by my fireplace reading Rudyard Kipling's "Boots" with a glass of bourbon in hand (neat, of course) and pondering life's most relevant questions; I began to wonder how close the first round of December high school wrestling rankings reflects the accuracy of the final rankings before state. I guess I don't have a question - more of a curious muse.

The top 3 would be pretty accurate with kids changing weight and all
At 144 we could see Roberts vs Birk in Ohio at the SWOCA. Depends on the bracket. Ohio doesn’t want 2 KY kids in the finals though. Look for them to meet in the semis or even the quarterfinals. Fingers crossed we get that match.

Seeds come out tonight.

Yes he is, he just won the Bobby Bates tournament in Virginia and it’s a tough tournament.

I think he’s going to be a tough match this year. But Bobby bates is not a tough tournament. It’s a really weak tournament.

where can you see the rankings besides this forum

I don't believe that's a thing
RankWrestler app is a place you can see rankings. It's data driven rather than personally knowing/interacting with the kids like Ranger's rankings.
I would be interested to see how this data driven app stacks up against rangers knowing and interacting way after the state tournament
I’m betting on Ranger !!

I've occasionally compared. I think where 100% data driven can have issues is weight changes and weird results. It is also dependent on accurate information getting into track in a timely manner. But overall it does a solid job. BIG catch, it is a paid service now. With all of the services we are all paying for these days, it is hard to justify paying to view rankings. They do have some cool statistical data that some like. I think Dr Baker keeps us updated with the pin leaders on a regular basis.

100% agree and that is what I meant by Ranger's is better because of knowing/interacting with the kids and wrestlers across the state.
RankWrestler gets you a close idea of a wrestlers strengths (the percentages in DrBakers image above right after the kid's current record) and you can see the strengths of their opponents but there is a human element that is missing.
I agree with Ranger that it's disappointing that it has turned into a paid service and also disappointing that the costs keep going up.
I offer you a challenge …CHAD,
My Ranger against your RankWrestling
They each pick the top 3 finishers after the brackets are released. Each pick you get correct is 1 point.
I will bet you one strawberry milkshake that Ranger wins

Please re-read what I have posted twice now... RankWrestler can give you an idea of a kids strengths and see who he has wrestled so far in the season, BUT (Improtant...please don't skip over this one again) Ranger's is better because of knowing/interacting with the kids and wrestlers across the state.

saw this rematch at SWOWCA
Rider Trumble (Ryle) 14-2 won by fall over Micah Thompson (Boyle County) 17-3 (Fall 1:39)
Is it true only 3 7th graders have won HS State in the history of Kentucky wrestling?

I thought it was 1.
Mark hall 2nd, did one of the Rainey boys do it or was that in 8th grade?
Did Joe Carr Jr. Do it or was that the year that Greg Woodring beat him.
Who were the 7th graders, if their were three
Pretty sure Jordan Raney is the only one
I think Jojo Won it his eighth grade year and lost to Jason Talbert from Oldham County his freshman year then went on to win three more.
l know KY has multiple 8th grade Champs, but only know of one 7th Grader to Win it
I was thinking both Raineys & Escalera had won it in 7th grade. Just wondering if that was correct or if more had done it?
I know Jayden was an 8th grader and l’m almost positive Zeke was an 8th grader as well
Only one 7th grader Jordyn Raney 2021. I believe there have been 6 8th graders to win it. Zeke Escalera, Brock Ervin, Jayden Raney, Jordyn Raney, JoJo Carr, David Carr
only one 5x state Champion Brock Ervin.

It was Greg Woodring that beat Jojo.
To add: Mark Hall got 2nd in his first 7th grade year in Ky, then won his 2nd 7th grade in Minnesota.
When do next rankings come out ranger?
