After watching Brown and Millers match at 5 Star. 135 looks like its going to be a very interesting weight class down at state this year. Whats everyone else's opinion on this weight class.

IMO it goes:
1st: Brown 2nd: Miller (This will be the most exciting match at state if these boys get to meet up in the finals)
i think third through fifth will be really tight between zach poulton justin davis and matt slone
this weight class is extremely tight.

Jacob Barton (Tri) has beaten Derek Branch the last two weekends, he should be in there somewhere.

I like the way you have it set, after seeing Thomson wrestle at the 5 Star, he might be able to place a little higher, but I'm saying Miller taking 1st. I thing Poulton could do some damage. I think he will take 2nd or 3rd at worst.
definantly matt slone wins it all!

He's good but nowhere in the same league as Miller or Brown.

Plus, the recent results I have seen have him at 140.
Ranger Matt is at 135 he just bumped up to wrestle grimm
Naw, I like what I have.
Barton has beaten Branch decisively 2 weeks in a row now. I'm sure he'll win again if they match up again. Barton will most likely place.
Who won that one??Ranger Matt is at 135 he just bumped up to wrestle grimm
Who won that one??
Matt took Grimm down and pinned him at the end of the third period. i believe the score was 2-1 at that point.
Why would someone claim Grimm only lost one match when he actually lost 2 additional matches at Grundy? Do matches out of state not count as a loss? I bet the out of state wins are counted on one's record.

since when do out of state losses not count. if that is true Mason Reid is ??-0 but we all know thats not true. A loss is a Loss no matter who it was to.
if this was true would losses at a tournament in state count if the wrestler is from out of state? J/W

Sorry about that the score was actually 3-1
then if out of state losses dont count. Do you count your out of state wins? :-D and yeah good question about in state tournaments. A loss is a loss an a win is a win no matter were who you wrestle is from.
out of state losses do not count on one's record!!
Mat master, what planet do you live on? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Wins and losses cross the border.
back on topic...
Miller dec over Branch by 1 point last night at Nelson Co.
Im going to have to go with a region 8 competitor on this one.. I think that Matt Slone has what it takes to win the state tournament this year. 135 is truly a toss up this year, it will come down to who wants it the most, and Slone has always found a way to win the big matches and sheldon clark usually wrestles a tough schedule.
1- Matt Slone
2- Matt Miller
3- Zack Poulton
4- Derek Branch
IMO..

IMO.Dusty Brown had a very good shot at winning it
I think they are all great kids and who ever is on and makes no mistakes will be favored.
Wrestling Style will be a big factor in who can adjust with a close or high scoring match.
Count on if they have matched-up during the season win or lose that will help with the mental aspect.
Honestly someone winning on the championship side will probably lose to the same oppenent on the consolidation side later in the tournament.
Zach Poulton
Matt Miller
Dusty Brown
Justin Davis
Matt Slone
Luke Ervin
Jacob Barton
Will Gilliland

are u talking about dusty brown from simon kenton?

Ssshhhhh. Dusty Brown from Simon Kenton no longer exists. Please keep this top secret, just between me and you, Jimmy. Dusty happened upon a Columbian drug ring and turned state's evidence for the FBI. The Columbian cartel are now after Dustin Brown. He is now under the FBI witness protection program and moved to Campbell County. We gave him a different haircut, made him change weight groups and taught him new moves. It is a perfect disguise. No one would even recognize him compared to last year. Just please keep this a secret. Thanks.
I heard Dusty's new name is Busser Brown.
I heard his new name was Chuck Norris...I immediatly went deaf after hearing this because Dusty proceeded to round house kick me in the ear.
I think Justin Davis will place higher than a lot of you think. He's wrestled Poulton twice and they each won one. He's a lot better wrestler this year than he was last year when he placed 4th in state. Last year everyone said he wouldn't even make state and couldn't beat Kevin Stewart from Fern Creek. He did both and placed 4th in state; better than many of his critics.
For crying out loud, do you Justin Davis fans think winning state is all about debating how good he is. If so, your debate team captain is state champ!! Give it a rest. We have all seen Davis wrestle. We have all read his crazy cussing antics on Kywrestling.com. Yes, he is a good athlete. Yes he got 4th last year. Big deal, quit trying to sell the boy. Let the state tourney decide. Or maybe, you guys can get back on and tell us again and again and again how is he going to surprise everyone. He is ranked third and got 4th last year. If he wins state, it won't be a surprise, will it? Enough said. Talk about someone else or type something original, not just the same boring BS again.

Thank you. At least someone besides me said it.

Since I was the only one that specifaically mentioned Justin Davis in this entire thread I don't know what you guys are so uptight about! All of you can mention your favorites but let one person mention Justin Davis and you get all riled up. Can't you stand to hear someone say something nice about someone or do you have some deep rooted hostilities that prevent you from being open to someone elses opinion?

See the Zach Poulton thread in High School wrestling.
Davis is a poor sport, I don't wish him well.
MrClean, your spin is not quite correct. I think I keep hearing a broken record. Everyone says the same thing, great athlete, strong, quick, good takedowns, determined, he will surprise people at state. We get the point.
He is ranked 3rd. He lost to Miller, who is ranked one. He split with Poulton, with Poulton pinning him last time. How can you possibly say he will surprise people at state. HE IS RANKED THIRD. Say something new, like, Justin just learned his second move. Justin gets plenty of praise. Justin is everything you have mentioned. But why does everyone say the SAME THING? Justin has not wrestled Matt Sloan or Dusty Brown.
I don't mean to pick on you specifically, I am just waiting for the next knuckle head to say how Justin is going to surprise everyone. WE GET IT! I guess I would be more sensitive if I didn't read his pathetic crying tirades and cussing he posted on this website. He doesn't exemplify a wrestler in my book, no matter how determined he is. He is a sore loser who whined and cussed out this website.
I, personally, don't see Justin winning it this year. If he can't duck under, he can't take you down. I like the kid just fine, I'm just saying, state can't be won on one move.
