who is going to be at the Big East tournament

I am not sure but i heard there is going to be 21 teams there. Including a bunch of the county teams so it should have lots of good competition.

You can relax...Fern Creek is not going to be there.

Holmes will be there but only have 6 wrestlers. Nobody above 152.

Valley and eastern will be there

Big East was a nice ran tourney last year. But very little competition some weaker teams you could say. But with 21 teams in it this year and it being a one day tourney i think you will run into the 5 match rule alot. Unless they do Polls in that case it could be one long day. I would only think 16 or so teams would be there. Last year Conner ran away with it early and kept it that way. Will see what the case is this year though.

Big East is probably my least favorite tournament that Holmes attends. Ticket prices are high, food prices are high, they won't let you bring any of you're own food in. Also, it's my understanding that if any teams want to bring a cooler in for the team, Eastern HS is charging the teams $100 per cooler. I also agree that competition at Big East has really dropped off in the past couple of years.

I guess not ill have to see where there going. Im not part of the team anymore so i guess i need to change my name o AlumniCougarWrestler.

I'm pretty sure that both South Oldham and Oldham Co. are going the the 5 Star.

The list of teams that will be at the Big East are:Ballard, Caldwell Co., Central, Eastern, Dunbar, Holmes, Holy Cross, Jefferstown, Manual, North Hardin, North Oldham, PRP, Southern, South Oldham, Trinity, Union Co. and Valley. Should be som every good matchesat the upper weights this weekend.

Maybe South Oldham is sending a JV team to one of them ?

Very well ran tournament. I wasn't real crazy about the separate consolation brackets, but I guess it solved the 5 match rule.

i think the first round was a little messed up by how they went from like 135 to 171 but from 2nd round and up it was good

also i think the finals weren't set up too good the should have finished out 5th and 7th place and had 2 mats for the 1st and 3rd place finals

I think what they were doing at the beginning was wrestling the pigtails first, then wrestling the first round for brackets that didn't have pigtails, then going back and wrestling the first round of the pigtailed brackets. I think the goal was to avoid the 45-minute rest rule and keep the brackets moving. It seemed confusing, but I think it did the job. At least they were trying to make sure everyone knew what weight class was wrestling next.
