who was the most outstanding wrestler?

Topic ID: 3569 | 45 Posts

was it Elam of Union, Spencer of Johnson, Zarth of henry Cay, Parks of woodford, Johnson of John Hardin, Davis of Eastern, Peace of Ryle, Courtney of Woodford, Choate of PRP, Ervin of Union, Reid of Ryle, Jones of North Hardin, Green of Lafayette, or Bailey of Fort Knox

Courtney of Woodford

I say Elam or Davis should have won it

who won it?? and who had fastest pin?

Hard not to go with Spencer. He did do the unthinkable! beating Sullivan!

but he only beat Sullivan 3-2, and Courtney beet everyone be fall and T fall

didn't know courtney had been undefeated for 4 years? and a 3 time state champ

courtney had been undefeated for 3 years? he lost to wayne county his 8th grade year and got 3rd place

was being sarcastic. Sullivan's resume.

MOW is for that particular tournament. It is awarded to the best wrestling performance of that event, not for an entire high school career and the win/loss record of that career. Harrison Courtney gave the best performance of the entire tournament; pinning in the finals was the deal closer on that one. No other weight class was so thoroughly dominated by one individual, throughout the three-day event.

m.ervin= 4 pins, 10-3 finals

courtney=2pins,2techs,pin in finals

close....

m.ervin= 4 pins, 10-3 finals

courtney=2pins,2techs,pin in finals

close....

Those 2 techs by Courtney were 15-0 and 16-0.  Can you say dominant?

dominant DAMNIT, WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

m.ervin= 4 pins, 10-3 finals

courtney=2pins,2techs,pin in finals

close....

Courtney's performance and demeanor before, during and after each match was more worthy of MOW than m.ervin.

I have to say Harrison Courtney for M.O.W., but I was VERY impressed with Zarth at 119.

M.O.W. ?????

Most Outstanding Wrestler.... M.O.W

cHIZZZZZZZOATE  mow

i really didnt see a dominate wrestler no one was aggressive threw the whole match maybe mason reid but that one was still so-so

Courtney is an all around respectable wrestler on and off the mat. I finally had a chance to sit around with him, great guy, not arrogant off the mat either. Very dominant wrestler on the mat, I didn't see one person that came close to beating him in the tournament, unbelievable wins throughout.

Now if Mitch would have stuck Sheehan in the first minute like he did last year its a whole new ballgame but Mitch has already gotten it once. Courtney is a beast... I would have given it to Zarth. 119 was stacked

:lol: :lol: :lol:

I hope that was a joke.  He should be thankful to have a state title and leave it at that.  I watched his finals match and seen a kid locked in a collar tie and hanging on to Isaacs wrist the whole 2nd & 3rd periods.  Doing nothing more than blocking off and being defensive.  Not taking anything away from him, he won fair and square....but was hardly MOW worthy.

Harrison Courtney all the way.  I was not so sure about Ervin going into state this year.  He is a great wrestler, but I think he probably would have lost a close one to Wolsiefer....i could be wrong, he may have pulled out a close one, but Wolsiefer would have given him all he could handle I think.  Courtney is better than both these guys in my opinion.  I was completely impressed with his semi finals tech of Griffith.  Griffith is a very good wrestler.  Courtney is simply amazing.

Harrison Courtney will be a 6 time state placer next year.

(Getting out my pom poms and going matmaid crazy)  i told you that Courtney is the best in the state...Courtney is a killah...has real good blood lines.. :-D

The W.c team as a whole surprised me, i never thought they would end up getting 3rd as a team. If they would have had decent upper wieghts they would have gave union a close run for the title.  Union looked strong i was especially impressed with a couple of thier wrestlers i think it was 103 and 119lbers

id have to say most outstading is spencer i mean he did the unthinkable or choke he beat ashbroke who was favored to win it form the begining

spencer and ashbroke are 2 different weight classes. spencer is 112 and ashbroke is 152

id have to say most outstading is spencer i mean he did the unthinkable or choke he beat ashbroke who was favored to win it form the begining

he weas saying spencer did the unthinkable and then he said or choke but i tihnk he meant CHoate because choate beat ashbrooke in the semi's

Elam, who did win it, I think deserved it after pinning his opponent in the finals with that messed up me, did yall see him limping?

Has to be Spencer...He ended the streak.

Has to be Spencer...He ended the streak.

For one match he was GREAT, but he didn't dominate the tournament the way Harrison did.

How about Bailey? I think he was the most dominant in his paticular weight class compared to how others were dominant in theres.

I don't know this so it may have happend, but did he pin or tech fall every oppenent?

but thats darn good i do not care what anyone says

if not for the match against Rinestine(3-2), I think he could of won the MOW

Hwt's don't usually win the MOW award.

You have to take into consideration the competition along with the wrestler.  I would say pound for pound who is the best wrestler and this is your MOW.  Hwt's usaully don't fill this criteria.

Exactly.  Courtney was the perfect choice.

Bailey did wrestle oustanding, i give him credit for shooting and not wrestling like a true hwt.  In his second year of wrestling great job

I think this was Bailey's 3rd year of wrestling.  I'm pretty sure he is a 3x regional champion, but not completely sure.  Regardless, runner-up as a 2nd year and champion as a 3rd year wrestler is pretty remarkable.  He could do Kentucky wrestling proud if given the opportunity to wrestle on the next level.

I thought it was close between Bailey and Courtney for the M.O.W. award. It definitely wasn't Spencer or Choate.

why not green of lafayette? he dominated all of his matches except one where he was sick he pinned all the way through also just because he isnt a light weight and doesnt ride legs and some other the other things does not mean he is undeserving

yeah he did but he is not a 3x time state champ you know what i mean if he was a returning state champ than thaat would be different

He didn't pin through. Both his quarter and semifinal matches were decisions
