Youth Wrestling Tournament

March 8, 2008

LOCATION: University Heights Academy, 1300 Academy Drive,

Hopkinsville, KY

ELIGIBILITY: 12 years of age and under (as of August 1, 2007)

ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per wrestler

TIMES: There will be a Region One Youth coaches meeting at 9 A.M. Officers and Regional representatives will be chosen at this meeting. Wrestling begins at 10:00 A.M.

DIVISIONS: Depending on the number of wrestlers, there will be four divisions. As follows, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12.

MEDALS: Medals will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place.

CONCESSION STAND: The concession stand will be serving drinks and food.

REGISTRATION/WEIGH INS: All wrestlers must pre-register and will be weighed in by their coach at remote weigh-ins. Each coach must fax or email a roster to (270)885-9343, including birthdate, age as of 8/1/07, grade and weight of each wrestler. This information should be submitted no later than Thursday, March 6, 2008

Due to the winter storm, the UHA Youth Wrestling tournament has been cancelled.  It will be rescheduled later this spring.

Actually, the tournament last weekend was hosted by Christian County.  UHA's tournament has been tenatively rescheduled for April 5 at UHA. 

oh good.. I was looking for somehwere to take the kids that weekend...  any definite info yet??

any updates ???  would love to bring some kids down there again....

Yes, the UHA tournament is definitely on for April 5.  Depending on the number of kids coming, we will probably do round robin pools.  We will try to get a new flyer emailed out soon.  Calloway county is hosting a tournament this weekend at Calloway County High School in Murray.

Update:  The UHA tournament this Saturday, April 5 will start at 8 AM.  Registrations from 8-9, with wrestling to start @ 9:30.  The tournament is open for all wrestlers 12 and under as of August  1, 2007. The following teams will be there:  UHA, Union County, Calloway County, Caldwell County, Trigg County, Ohio County, Christian County, Larue County.  No preregistration necessary - just send an email with an estimate on the number of kids you will have coming.  This is the last tournament scheduled this year in the Western Ky Youth wrestling season.
