Topic ID: 3878 | 76 Posts

Okay, it's been a month, so I guess I'll throw an update out here.  Haven't heard a lot.  Norbury going 215 and I saw Dusty Brown and he looks like he ate Billy Fuller so I'm guessing he'll be wrestling 189 or at least 171.

171 looks better. . Also, I've heard Scotty Hogan get ripped on here alot in the past, he looked pretty good at Union.

A quick question, isn't Omar Jarvis [Cen] the kid who use to wrestle for the Fern Creek club?

Yes, I heard he will be attending Central next year.  I don't know about 171.  If Julian Tackett thinks there is a chance of a guy in thermals making the medal stand he may cancel the weight next year.

Won't just be the medal stand. I'll be standin' up top wearin' nothin' but boots, long johns, my "Scott's Fowl Pecker Farms" hat, and a big fat Copenhagen smile. Julian will have to just take it.

I've seen Grant wrestle this off-season. He is a stud and a half.

Ranger,Do you think Isaac Ervin will move up to 152?He looked light last weekend @ a youth tourny in Calloway.

IMOO Colonel.. I have to agree with you....

i doubt kevin waits from ft. knox will wrestle at 119 again.. today he told me hes weighing about 140 and i saw him get pinned twice toniite in the 1st period at NO-OX wrestling club.. i dont think hes that good..

Let Co Cen Dakota Kincer will not be at 103 again i didnt even thibk he would make it this year.

Let Co Cen Dakota Kincer will not be at 103 again i didnt even thibk he would make it this year.

I see him at 119. I spent time with him at state. Definately no chance of making 103.

TJ Ruschell - 103.  I think he will be in 8th grade, not 10th.  Good job on the update.

Did I overlook Brent Hitchings?

Will he be a freshman this year?

He will be top 5 whatever weight he decides do go!

there is no way gavin agnew from caldwell is makin 152 again. he probably wrestle 160, and kyle Proffitt from caldwell is wrestling 189 next year

I heard that troxell from wayne might wrestle 103 again this year

Ryan Harlow (JC) will wrestle 215 next year.

Tony Tinnell From Bullitt Central Is Over The Age Limit And Cant Wrestle Next Year...

I see him at 119. I spent time with him at state. Definately no chance of making 103.

I am hearing the opposite from those close to him.  So I am leaving it for now.

Did I overlook Brent Hitchings?

Will he be a freshman this year?

He will be top 5 whatever weight he decides do go!

I'm hearing Fahy at 103 and Bradbury at 112.  Not sure he would jump all the way to 119.

TJ Ruschell - 103.  I think he will be in 8th grade, not 10th.  Good job on the update.

TJ will be a 9th grader.

Neal Reburn from Union Co. is listed at 112.  Who will be Union County's 103?

Preston Shoopman is listed at 160 but he will be wrestling 152 next year

I heard that troxell from wayne might wrestle 103 again this year

i did too at boarder war he said he weighed like 107

The season is far away but Neal Reburn is wanting to go 103 again with Keaton Thomas at 112. But if he can't make 103 and the school board allows the middle school to wrestle in high school then possible Myron or Christian Ricketson (dunno whose which) could see some time at 103.

Why can't middle school wrestle high school?    According to KHSAA they can participate 7th and up.

Why can't middle school wrestle high school?    According to KHSAA they can participate 7th and up.

I think it is up to the local school board.  Apparently Union County School Board has not approved 7th and 8th graders from wrestling varsity.

Okay, it's been a month, so I guess I'll throw an update out here.  Haven't heard a lot.  Norbury going 215 and I saw Dusty Brown and he looks like he ate Billy Fuller so I'm guessing he'll be wrestling 189 or at least 171.

I honestly doubt Harrison will end up that low next year, I agree we will not have a squad as good as we have in the past couple of years but we will be decent, higher than 28.  Just my opinion though, good job on the rankings.....

I know this is petty ranger but you have Boone ranked 36 and they have one kid on your rankings 18 at 189. Meanwhile my alma mater has one kid ranked 17 at 189 and they are not above them?

Does it really matter?

You have Fern Creek listed at 61st...they should at least be in the top 60... :-D

Shane White is MUCH closer to 103 than 119.

I remember seeing those "The Creek is Rising" shirts.  What happened?  Has the youth program went downhill?  Has the Creek went dry?

you should check out my other post under the YOUTH thread...

Shane White is MUCH closer to 103 than 119.

but bracco and kraz. i dont think white can beat them

Sheeves.....where have you been all my life??????????????

Moore's probably going to look like this

125 Shawn Cook

130 Justin Keisker

135 Zack Micheal

140 Nick Vincent

145 Steven Willbanks

You have Fern Creek listed at 61st...they should at least be in the top 60... :-D

I would like to believe so.  But based on the lineup I see (assuming Warren is not returning), I don't see alot of ranked wrestlers.

I have only posted the top 20, but more than that go into the scoring at state (24 to be exact).  So there are some guys (not on the board) who are scoring points according to the rankings.

I would like to believe so.  But based on the lineup I see (assuming Warren is not returning), I don't see alot of ranked wrestlers.

I was kidding...notice I only moved them up one spot... :-D

Why would Harlow want to wrestle 215 when he would have to go up against Ryan Kelly in the region?

I honestly doubt Harrison will end up that low next year, I agree we will not have a squad as good as we have in the past couple of years but we will be decent, higher than 28.  Just my opinion though, good job on the rankings.....

i must agree. harrison county is improving and they are going to be tough. Andy Lenz will be a contender at 112 if he can make that weight

at 215 I believe he would have more of a problem with pace from wayn than kelly because kelly really fell off this year

"Fell off" where do you get he fell off.  He had only been on the mat for 6 weeks prior to state due to an injury.  He lost one match at state.  He lost one match at Grundy after being out for practice only 2 days. The kid  was from Blacksburg VA who placed 3rd in the state.  He lost 1 match at WSAZ which fields 50+ teams after only being out practicing 3 weeks.  He lost 3 total matches  for the year, all to highly ranked kids and was not wrestling at 100%.  He also went 3-2 at nationals in Va beating several nationally ranked kids. He was one match from placing.

and i do believe that would explain why he would want to go 215... he's chasing competition.. not running from it...  good for him...

Lets here from some wrestlers.  Why do you pick a certain weight to wrestle?  Most  of the lower weights could go 2 to 3 weights from their normal or wrestling weight.  Upper weights could go usually 2 different weights.  Do you pick where you think you can best win state or find a harder weight to get tougher competition?  This doesn't mean changing weights just for a tournament to get better competition.

i always wrestled in the weight i was more competive in

I always wrestled where I was the best fit for the team. We always had a strong team, so I went where I would most benefit the team

Austin Jones is wrestling 125most likely

evan decker might be at 160

He wrestled 140 at union county open tourney

Yea he is only weighing about 135+

thats not that much weight to cut

our 103 for next year is about  118-120

I remember seeing those "The Creek is Rising" shirts.  What happened?  Has the youth program went downhill?  Has the Creek went dry?

First let me say that the youth program is doing quite well.  The Creek is not nearly dry, it is just too spread out.  The problem is that our Creek has been watering some shamrocks the past couple of years.  We just need to fix our leaks and maybe build a few dams.

My brain hurts

why not lafayettes wes evans his beaten Bill Semones and Austin Jaggers. the only reason he wasnt varsity is matt green the state champ was on his team.

i am zack shaw and i will be wrestling for hoptown in the 08'-09' season at 145 or 140

did you wrestle any this year?you're in texas, right?

That's good to hear.  I doubt you all will stay down for long.  I think that the new coach will be handling the wrestlers a lot better then what we have seen in the past.  I wish him and the team the best of luck.

wes evans had beaten every kid in the region before he would have been the region champion if not for the state champion matt green in front of him

Wes Evans is a good wrestler, but I also watched him lose to Dodd kinder from TC this year, so to say he would ahve been regional champion is not true, he is not on Matt Green's level, after MG 215 was extremely close in the 7th region.

he has also demolsihed kids who have beat dod so i mean its his first year and he is inconsistent. and no one said he is on matt greens level no one in the state at 215 was.

First let me say that the youth program is doing quite well.  The Creek is not nearly dry, it is just too spread out.  The problem is that our Creek has been watering some shamrocks the past couple of years.  We just need to fix our leaks and maybe build a few dams.

That was an absolutely incredible metaphor.

our 103 for next year is about  118-120

In an equality equation there is no such thing as Chuck Norris in the plural form.  Mason Reid could only = 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of a Chuck Norris.
