Yes the other wrestler was Jeff Fitch. He was a three-time state champ, winning in 73, 74 and 75 I believe.

I nominate Rick Barker, Newport Central Catholic wrestler. 3 time state champion in the 70's. He is Ryle's assisitant coach. Aske anyone who has wrestled at Ryle in the last 10 years. He reminds you of Yoda. He may be little and old but he is a badass! "Hmmm win state you must"
I nominate Pat Lee for the Wrestling Hall of Fame. Pat spent more time fighting off his back than any other Kentucky wrestler. Pat demonstrated tremendous courage while supine and although ALL matches resulted in him being pinned, he was touted by many as being the toughest to pin.
C'mon IPEA I thought for sure I saw him win a match or two. I'm sure I saw him defeat the kid from KSB with one arm and one leg.

Yea, that's not even right. You're a message board bully IPEA. You know I was not pinned in all matches, and thank you GOO for pointing out my victory against a KSB guy. For the record he had no legs. But his 1 arm was really strong.
Navybro - you're right about Barker, as I heard one person put it, it's like he has 4 arms. He was pretty tough to beat back in h.s. when i used to kick his ###.

In Northern Ky you forgot Pat Martz from Conner. 3 time state champion and I believe 4 time finalist. I'm not sure about the him being a state runner up?

From what I've heard, you just need to work on the nomination committee. There are so many qualified athletes but if no one nomiates them then they have no shot. Not the Joe didn't deserve it, by all means he did, but someone has to do the leg work to get a person nominated. So for all those guys from NKy, find out the process and get to work. That's the only way to get in.
