Congratulations Starks,
I hope he follows thru and has a successful (safe) military and wrestling career.
i heard from a good source that rusty parks is considering wrestling in college now that his high school career is over...the thing is he wont be ready for that until about a year or so..he wants to maybe take a year off and get back into shape after his surgery and train with joe carr jr.... any opinions on what he should do?>
at this point, go small school. campbellsville or somewhere like that.
If wrestling was basically the only sport I did, like Rusty, I would for sure try and wrestle in college. The thing is you have to show interest in colleges for them to even consider letting you on the team. But I think a highly respectable name such as Rusty Parks can get onto a small college wrestling team... I would say go for it!!!!
Good luck in anything you do.....

I know that I am biast but why would you not want to go to the University of the Cumberlands over Campellsville? UOTC seems to be the better team by far and loves to have KY wrestlers representing their team. I know for a fact that they are looking for a heavyweight next year, so if you are a heavy and want to wrestle in college you might want to contact coach Medders or one of his assistants.
