Watch for Aaron McCauley of Trinity in the 96#. He's a scrappy, give it all you got kind of kid. He can hang with the best of 'em (and he was a state champ last year)

65 Matt Fahy...St x at 70 I hear Lampe from Fern Creek is tough..75 Is John Fahy ..St X. 82 Myron Bradburry..Trinity. 89 is Brent Hitchings ..Trinity....above those weights , I am not firmiliar enough to predict

Not so fast refdad, don't rule out Paden, Watson, or Salyers at 82. Paden has only lost once in his career to Bradbury, and Salyers is one of those mountain boys that can throw you. BOTH have the talent and ability to beat Myron.

True. Paden and Watson are good. I have seen Watson loose twice this year to Bradburry first hand. Also I watched Watson and Paden wrestle. Watson had Paden beat and locked hands twice in the third period and also got a very contraversial call ,but the match was decided by one point. Went to Paden. Havnet seen the other kid you mentioned.Anyone can pull and upset by I just think Myron will do it again.

Byrd has beaten McCauley twice this year solidly. They were fairly close matches but Byrd was clearly in control.

The Jude / Byrd match at regions was decided by 1 point and had some controversial calls. Look for another close one at state.

slone and ohlman are obviously the top two at 117, but are there any other ones in that division that stand out?

You are forgetting Steven Willbanks from Moore at 117. He has lost to Ohlmann twice but lost 3-2 for the regional championship. Believe me he will be ready.

Also the Griego twins at 124 and 131.

I dont belive jude will make it to the finals shelby Floyd is going to stop him dead in his tracks

140 finals should be Brad Hitchings of Trinity and Jacob Lee of Conner. It will be a rematch of last years final at 124. Hitchings won last year, however, Lee has been wrestling high school this year and that experience always makes you a better wrestler. Should be interesting.

Union County has Caleb Ervin, Brock Ervin, Logan Wedding, and Timothy McKenney who all look good this year.

Myron Bradburry finishes third at 82 ??? You dont even have Jacob Lee placing at 140 ?? Was this an oversite or you dont think he will place

I don't believe Jacob Lee will be top 3.

Bradbury is actually the 2nd best but he is on John Stout's side of the bracket and I beleive John Stout will pull out the W.

Guess that is possible. As for lee at 140 he got 2nd last year to Hitchings and I dont think he has lost a match yet this year.

I still say:

1. Bradbury

2. Paden

3. Stout

103

1. TJ Bates (Conner)

2. Tommy Warren (Fern Creek)

3. Josh Alig (Gray)

are u joking Tj bates didnt even get first in his region i highly doubt he will win state

Monkeyroll: What about John Fahy at 75 lbs...He has never lost a match in the state of Ky yet.. You dont think he will even place at 75??

Do you really think Logsdon from WC can touch Johnson from NH? Johnson lost to Luna by one point @ high school duals. Who has Bates wrestled this year to be picked over Alig?

Do you really think Logsdon from WC can touch Johnson from NH

I don't think he can, but anything can happen on a given day.

The Faheys (Matt at 65 and John at 75) should win. They are both undefeated in KY this year, I *think*.

The 103 weight class is just stacked. Lascurain from Bourbon is tough, as are both Ervin and Warren. (I've never seen Alig but I'm assuming he's tough.) Lampe (FC) is a silent threat- he finishes second often and doesn't allow many points- very strong.

Who do you all think would win between Bates and Ervin?

I say your right "worker", it looks like the 103 is stacked. Looks like most are experienced wrestlers, and which will come out on top will be interesting to see. They should have some final-like matches in the 2nd round. I predict they Fahy boys will win, as well as Johnson @ 110. The 89 and 96 class should also be fun to watch. I have never seen Alig on the mat so that one is hard to tell, which may be the way they want to keep it until Feb 5th.

:?: what about devon james the 131 from mccreary?

I think the James kid from McCreary has a chance to place in the top 4. I have seen him wrestle and he has beaten some of the top competitors at 131 and at 140. If he wrestles to his full potential he could place 2nd or even 1st! By the way what is the name of the mccreary kid that wrestles 185, he is a beast. I think he will probly win state as well!

Harlow

103

1. TJ Bates (Conner)

2. Tommy Warren (Fern Creek)

3. Josh Alig (Gray)

running the gauntlet - it wouldn't be the first time a kid took 2nd in region & won state....it has happened MANY times in the h.s. level.

What about this Newberry kid @ 150 from Larue. Only lose of the year @150 was 6-4 in regional final. I think he is only a 6th grader? Does he have a chance of placing?

Have Slone and Ohlman (117) met up this year? If so, what was the result? Has Slone had any close matches at all this year? What makes him so good (never seen him) - strength, quickness, technique, heart? Or all of the above?

thanks for the comment i have been workin hard this year to be on top....by way my name is Ryan Harlow "ROCK"

how come you guys think that wille singleton is going to place 3rd in state at 185? whot about the campbell county kid?

:?: what about devon james the 131 from mccreary?

how did he do at regionals? i heard he got teched?

Devin James took 4th at regions. I heard he had a stomach flu that day. All I know is I have seen him beat and pin some of the guys who have placed 2nd and 3rd in other regions so I know he can wrestle and if you underestimate him you will be counting lights. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

monkeyroll your nuts. First of all Bates has been beat twice this year by Alig. Lee will most likely pin his way to the finals. Bradburry is easily the best wrestler at his weight class. Bradburry has all ready beat Padden i think twice. Your over looking Watson at 82 to. At 150 Pugh should find himself in the finals only loosing two matches all season one from OH one by Lee. Lee will be in the finals along with Pugh and Watson.

#1: Bradbury has only beaten Paden 4-1, not exactly convincing.

#2: Bradbury has to beat Stout from Bourbon before making the finals.

Watson has to beat Salyers from Johnson Central in the semis.

I think 82 will be fun this weekend. I look forward to it. :D

How is 4-1 not convincing he only scored 1 point that means he did not score one take down. Bradburry beat Watson 4-3 Watson gave up one lock hands and let him go w/ 6 seconds left.

bradbury has wrestled watson twice. the first time the score was 4-3 the second time they both bumped up to 89 and bradbury beat him 6-2 i think. bradburys only two losses are to a kid from reitz indiana and a kid from claymont (cleaveland) Ohio.

"Let him go w/6 seconds left."? Doesn't sound like a very smart move....my guess is Bradberry got an escape. Cougarwrestler...you're about as big of a homer as woodford99 is on here, you're always talking about Conner this, Conner that...how about letting your kids do the talking on the mat.

ooooooh!!! c-c-c-cat fight!!!!!

I will handle issues with Pionner_Pride later. The only thing I hear him talking about are the Lee brothers. Who are they?? Read above though I gave props to Palmer, Bradburry, and a few other wrestlers.

MONKEYROLL: If you were at the tournament I guess you seen first hand your picks didnt turn out too well. Better luck next time.

how bout them boys from trinity????

7 finalist-5 champs!!!!!!

bradbury

hitchings

mccally

hitchings

lewis

go shamrocks!!!!!!!

Trinity did very well and congrats to them, but I think for me the suprise of the tournament was Conner taking second in team points

trevor frietsch will win the 45 or 50 pound weight class clay brown or garth will win the 75 pound class and kevin cooper might win the 103 pound weight class

I think Trevor, Clayton, and Kevin have a chance to win at whatever weight they are in. I know Trevor is leaps-and-bounds ahead of all kids his age in physical abilities, the only way he loses is if someone several years older than him falls into the same class, Clayton just needs to mature, Kevin needs to watch his cockiness,,, this a late post, waited for more signs

Rick Vaughn Sr....I am assuming these kids that you are talking about are all from Twenhofel. Who is Trevor you are referring to? What weight class did he wrestle last year? How did he do at Middle School State?

It is Trevor Frietsch, I am sure of the weight I believe last year was 45 and usually was wrestling older kids and up several weight classes, Mark Cooper and Gary Brown are working with him again this year

A Fahey might have something to say about the 75 lb class.

trevor frietsch will win the 45 or 50 pound weight class clay brown or garth will win the 75 pound class and kevin cooper might win the 103 pound weight class

I think it is a fairly safe bet that Matt Fahy will win 75...Even safer that John Fahy will win 82..I am not firmiliar with Trevor Frietsch but I really think the odds are against a kid winning 70 lbs( even if it gets approved to have a 70lb class)only weighing 50 or so. 89lbs..This has quite a few kid capable of winning. If Hitchings goes 89 he has to be the favorite. If not Watson or maybe  Jones from Conner depending on who goes what weight. Paden from LaRue..Hitchings at 96 if he goes this weight followed by Troxell from McCreary Co.
