but none the less i believe that if you are good enough to be a world class athlete in your sport that school will only slow you down
It what way will school slow you down?
C'mon can't you at least look at what has happened to Chris Henry. Yea he is still a professional athlete. But he lacks the education to take care of himself. Make the correct decisions when needed.
There are numerous others who fall into this category. If they would have taken the time to get a decent education, or at least applied themselves more then he would not be in the predicament he is in now. How much money has he lost because he didn't make good choices? Chances are if he would have taken the time in school to get the information needed to develop the skills needed to make good decisions, he would have been playing the last 2 years and making even more money. (Because I'm sure this is where you are going with this)
How many professional athletes go broke after they retire because they did not invest their money correctly? How many pro athletes lost money to con men? Let alone the always used example. What about those whose careers were shortened for some reason?
Are you willing to roll the dice and take a chance that none of this will happen to you, just so that you can get the quick bucks a few years earlier? You may get lucky, but who knows.
