I'm not accusing anyone of telling stories, but I can't find anything telling me he was a state champ. I did find some track results for a Darien Crank from Long Branch HS in New Jersey, but nothing on wrestling.
Wow. Seems like every year we have someone who is suppose to be some stud from out of state. I only remember in two instances where these claims were true.
1. Don Blevins from Fern Creek. He ended up 2X state champion.
2. Murton brothers from Lawrence Co. I believe won 5 state championships between them.
Here is what I think happens. A wrestler moves into KY. He bolsters his ability a little by rattling off statistics that are probably a little embelished. He thinks that even if his stats are not true he will still be able to back them up because he is in Ky, which is not a fantastic wresting state.
Once the season starts he finds out that Ky far under-rated and he starts losing matches. At this time these individuals ususally end up never wrestling agian or come clean and say "No you misunderstood me I was a gradeschool state champion"
I'm not saying this kid is embelishing his accomplishments because I don't know him from Adam. But lets wait and see before we pass judgment on his ability to win in good ole KY>

I last great wrestler, Zack Bontrager, came here his Junior year out of Virginia.
We are a an on post school and therefore more likely to have somebody like that move here. Like next year we are going to have probably an entirely different lineup even though this year has a ton of Sophomores

Like I said I was going best case scenario. Colin is a very good athelete and he is focusing entirely on wrestling. He had his first full year last year and did pretty good. Honestly I don't expect Colin to wrestle his best, and he should not win regionals, but he should place

What about Tanner Flynn at Heavyweight for Caldwell County????
The guys a straight up beast. In my opinion he would have won regions last year if he hadnt broke his hand at union last year, and this year i think hes the best heavy weight in region 1.

Well we cant really say anything to serious untill the season gets underway but Tanner Flynn is a talented wrestler who has a great shot at regional champ
This is true tanner is great but he only weighs like 225 now, he lost alot of weight this summer he weighed 270 back before he hurt his hand, football and working on a horse farm took it off him fast, but he has gotten alot stronger since then, the last time we maxed out he was benching about 280 and squating about 360, which is much stronger than what he used to be.

Some Air Force guy, Thomas Campbell didn't get the job because our prinicipal was against his weight management methods.
The last time i spike with flynn, which was a coulple of days ago, he told me he was weighin around 260, and with his added strength, hes gonna be a serios contender for regionals this year

You are completly wrong because when he went to the wrestling room and eighed in last Wednesday Tanner Flynn only weighed 228. whoever you are your info is wrong

Croney and Payne have their heads off in la la land every year, they might do something at region but they aren't dedicated enough to show up when it matters. As for the other names... i know three for sure that won't wrestle b/c they won't get straight in school.

bear that is true but last year croney was 1 round away from placing he will be a beast this year he amazingly strong he is a straight up beast austin jones is done for the year due to problems at school

tremvp135 not sure who you are, I have an idea who you are, but I'll echo pin2win, The Bear knows of what he talks. I will say that Trice and Geralds do have as much talent as anybody but, as they say in Missouri "Show Me, Don't Tell Me!"
I enjoy watching both wrestle.I think they could both place with some hard work.I know the coaches have faith in their ability.I believe we will see a different Croney and Payne than we have seen in years past.
