cant wait for ryle there might be a new number one after that dez jakes is out to prove something this year

I dont think that Jakes has the offense to hang with either Brown or Ervin.  From what I seen at state last year, he is a very defensive wrestler.  If he gets the lead he can sit on it and win tough matches.  I dont see him getting the lead with either of the wrestlers I mentioned.

he is wrstling

I was at Seneca Yesterday and i talked to some of the people and they said Lofton Wright wasn't wrestling this year.

But you never know, he might change his mind...

I got alot of things for South Oldham too..

Forrest Williams (HWT) pinned Cody Hall last night, he also pinned Greg Billiows twice at the scrimmage a week or so ago

Spencer Warren (160)beat Bernard Ray last year at Ryle (He didn't stop talking about it all summer) and since he has never wrestled Preston Shoopman, and since Lofton might not be wrestling....  I'm biased... but i think he should be ranked higher...

Cole Proctor (152) is going 145

Stephen Vaughn is planning on going 135,

Brandon Whitehouse (135) is going 130.

and yea.. thats it

Jared Smith really scared us against Rossview. He was caught in a cradle with a minute left in the 1st but he was able to fight it off.

He ended up pinning his kid with 1:30 left in the third. We don't know how good Rossview's 125 is supposed to be but Jared was saying he was pretty good.

Or other really good guy Tre Such won all of his matches. Pinning his Rossview opponett in 20 seconds. But he says the Rossview kid wasn't that good

who is tre such? what weight..

He was our 130 last year but yesterday he wrestled 145.

He was doing pretty good last year but he started getting gassed out at the end of the year and was unable to place at regionals. If he had bumped up to 135 he probably could've. He can beat Jared pretty easily

okay i was just wondering and i apologize for the really bad typing in the last reply

Even though Brown and Hedges are letting me down tonight, I have to say I am very impressed with Tates Creek.  I expected them to be good (that's why they are ranked near the top 10), but seeing them live they looked better than I expected.  Henry Clay is right there behind them.  And when you consider some of the young talent on the Lafayette team, Lexington is looking pretty strong this year.

letting you down? sorry i let you down...can i ask what i did?

You were supposed to do something tonight.  I asked Brown to get it done and he said you were handling it.  REMEMBER?

oh yeah...god i can't believe i forgot...

well tates creeks dual was tonight and heres some individual results...

brandon abney wrestled unions 103. im pretty sure it was neal reburn. if not disregard this statement, but he beat him by quite a bit. whoever it was. he went undefeated.

zac brown also went undefeated.

joe davis lost his match to union count, but i'm pretty sure he won the rest of the matches he had tonight

kasey hedges beat matt young by 1 point. joe whalen lost to matt young 2-0. it was a good defensive match.

nick lalonde wrestled well today too, not sure who all he beat cause im not good with names, but he looked like he was overpowering some of the other guys out there.

andrew wright wrestled very solid today. he beat matt burke pretty handedly. he took people down and let them up all tournament scoring him 21 takedowns today.

daniel griggs, dodd kinder, and nathan gray also went undefeated today.

thats all i can remember off the top of my head. now i dont know how these results will affect the rankings, cause of most of the wrestlers being out of their weight class, but there they are..

oh btw ranger, i see will and joe both moved up a spot, called it, lol.

Neal Reburn was at 112 today. all of unions wrestlers bumped up 1 or 2 weight classes. Their 103 today was a 7th grader. He went 3-2. They get their football players back monday so their weights will be shifting back down.

some of them weighed to heavy to shift back down immediately, idk about that. but anyway, then zac brown beat neal reburn. i think the score spread was nine points.

Yeah he majored him. like 15-6 i'm pretty sure.

[glow=red,2,300]Good job with the rankings ranger.[/glow]  Looks like things are starting to take shape. :-D

Micheal Britton will not be wrestling this year. Something that he is eneligible due to academics from the previous year.

At the King of the Bluegrass Tournament, Corey Krieger (Fern Creek) finished in second, behind the kid ranked eighth from Christian County.  In the semifinals, he beat Suppe from Scott, 6-3 I Believe

Dee Leavell

Dee Leavell is certainly his name, thanks... Dee pinned Corey in the 2nd period.

Dee Leavell is certainly his name, thanks... Dee pinned Corey in the 2nd period.

my man Dee is way under ranked i see him in the finals

I think he has a chance of doing great things but so far the only bit matches he has won are in the off season and (early season?). I have seen him wrestle and believe he is a very good wrestle but until he wins some key matches in mid to late regular season I think that it is hard to rank him above other wrestlers whom have had more time to, how should I say "show themselves off".

What do you consider key matches. The kid looked tough in early season, intimidation, he set the stage. On a second note since when is wrestling about showing off? I always thought it was for love of the sport. Its the wrestlers that worry about "showing off" that end up failing in the long run. Example, Harrison Courtney wrestles with a basic style, no flashy duck-unders or tosses. He is no doubt the best wrestler in the state. Take someone like Ozzy Parker, hit wonderful moves, flowed on the mat, he looked real good but his downfall was that he knew he looked good and tried his best trying make the big crowd go "ohh & ahh" My argument with you comment is that just because its early season doesn't mean that good wrestlers can't be picked out from pudds, and that wrestling isn't about showing off.

What do you consider key matches. The kid looked tough in early season, intimidation, he set the stage. On a second note since when is wrestling about showing off? I'm guessing the show off was not the right choice of words.  What he/she probably meant was prove themselves.  The other kids have proven themselves at big tournaments and especially in February when it counts.

That is exactly the sort of thing that I meant. I was only refering to rank and I was only saying until he is actually able to prove himself it would be hard to put him in front of someone who has. I personally agree and think he will end up ahead of a lot of kids.

dee would have a long way to go to make it to finals though, he's have to have an obnoxiosly easy state bracket to make it there in my opinion. there are some tough wrestlers at 112 with bradbury, lenz, brown, and troxell just to name a few. any of them on his side of the bracket, i dont think hed make it.

I think Leavell is pretty tough. I'm gonna say he could beat Brown and Lenz, He'd lose to Bradbury, and Troxell is a toss-up IMO

Lenz beat him last year.  Not sure he has wrestled Brown, but I give Brown the slight edge right now.  I do agree though that Troxell could be a toss-up.

All this talk is gonna makes Dee's head blow up bigger than his cheeks after wrestling season! haha You know I'm playing with you man.

i believe troxell and dee would be a great match but i think brown and dee would be even better i think that would go overtime and come down who is better at neutral and i think dee might win it

maybe we'll get the pleasure of watching that match this season.

Does anyone know who will be at the Anderson County Tournament this saturday???

Lenz did beat Dee last year but Dee beat him in the off season

James Huffine 7-4 against dylan pike 112

Zach Tucker Pinned James Childress 119

to be honest i dont think the off season means anything, most wrestlers dont even cut weight for off season tournaments

I agree with you on this. i got it handed to me alot during the summer. Summer tourneys are always run un-smooth. Plus most kids are trying different styles and moves to prepare them for the way they want to wrestle during the season.

thats another point i didn't even mention. i've wrestled tournaments during the summer, and half the fun is trying something you'd never try in a high stakes match.

I was at Ryle and hit a sweet jap drag on some kid from out of state during the off season... it was sweet.  :-)

I think you will be hearing more from brandon Abney at 103

will new rankings be posted before the Raider Rumble Saturday?

Hunter Lilly (Anderson County) is wrestling at 130 this year.  His record is 4-1 after the Wayne County duals and Bourbon County dual.  Just an update.

Yes, probably in the next hour.  I need to have a Sonic Coconut Creme Pie Shake to prepare first.

For people who don't know who you are, this just reminds them that you're human and not a super computer. I'm gonna give you a big ol' [completely hetero, mind you] hug the next time I see you. j/k lol
