In a battle of the #1 and #2 teams in the country the Iowa Hawkeyes beat the Iowa St Cyclones 20-15 last Saturday night.  I watched the dual on the Big Ten Network and if my memory serves me correct they will air the dual several more times in the next couple of weeks.  More Big Ten duals are to follow later in the season.

Joey Slaton was maj. dec.? wow.

Yeah he has been struggling to get down to weight.  He got the first takedown pretty easy and then pretty much died from there.  If Fanthorpe had played the takedown/ let him up game he could have gotten the tech but he tried to turn Slaton, which wasn't going to work even though Slaton was gassed because of his strength.

Honestly I was very surprised that Brands sent Slaton out, I thought it would be Dennis.  After the dual Brands said that sending out Slaton was a mistake on his part.  But who knows, he may have been trying to make a point to Slaton.  Those mind games are pretty complex at this level.
