Everybody is talking about who is going to win the indidual weight classes but I havnt seen anyone say who they thought would win as a team. What team will win each region?

Im region 3 valley, prp or deseals
In region 3 more than likely will be prp but could also be close with Bullet central.
valley now has all but four weight classes and all wrestlers can make the finals so dont count them out
Region 6
1st: Ryle
2nd:Campbell Co.
3rd: Scott
4th:Conner
5th:Simon Kenton
6th:Dixie Heights
ect.
Ryle won't win region 6, that was a dismal performance yesterday. I'm thinking CC will pull it out, but it will be close.
Korey Shotwell has come a long way at 112. He got caught and consequently pinned right off by Coty Lewis, but wrestled a respectable 6 point loss to Luna .... against whom Lewis escaped with a one point win.
The rest looks pretty good.

Josh Johnson from North Hardin Lost to Luna 1-0 (Good Match)
Then that tells you this. Shotwell and Johnson had a good match. It tells me that neither of their performances against Luna was a fluke then ... since this all happened yesterday with Luna taking it to Lewis that day.
Region 6, Ryle beat CC wednesday night, Feb. 1st, so dont count them out just yet... and as for shotwell, and the other 112's in 6, i mean it is really a toss up, its always a close match between, shotwell, Isler, and Soupe, so it should be a great finals, or even semi's for that matter
You're exactly right ... i got a bit hasty counting Ryle out of this. 112 will be an interesting weight class ... along with 145 (wow !!), 152 (someone good isn't going to state), and 160. The 130 finals match will likely be good again too ... and the 140 finals may be a good one to watch as well.
Shotwell will be a stud, he is only in 8th grade.
reagion 4

Can someone please tell me the correct date, time and location for the Region 3 tournament? I've gotten a lot of conflicting info.
1. LaRue

John Has beat both Anderson and Central in duals so they probably are the favorite.
4/5 Close and right on John's heals if they should make mistakes :!:

Central Hardin

Ft. Knox/Nelson, I expect a good showing for a first year program.

Region 3's tournament will be at Southern High School on Friday, February 10. Weigh-ins will begin at 4 pm. They are to start wrestling between 5 and 5:30. They intend to put a full day of wrestling into one night so there won't be any wrestling on Saturday.

Region 1 Union Co.
Region 2 Larue Co.
Region 3 PRP
Region 4 Trinity
Region 5 South Oldham
Region 6 Ryle
Region 7 Woodford Co.
Region 8 Wayne Co.
Region 6-Your counting dual meets. They dont matter for a Regional Tournments..they wont go head to head as much as u think
Ryle should still come out on top of region 6.
Campbell doesn't have the horses to win it.
When the state tourney comes around I think campbell will take a back seet to both Ryle and Simon Kenton. Conner and Scott could also creep up on them come state time.
I think most of region 6 will end up between 13-19 at the end of state.
Scott, Simon Kenton, Campbell Co., and Conner. With Ryle placing top 6.
Region 1 Union Co.
Region 2 Larue Co.
Region 3 PRP
Region 4 Seneca
Region 5 Fern creek
Region 6 Campbell Co.
Region 7 Woodford Co.
Region 8 Wayne Co.
Region 5 Fern Creek?
No, no, no.
South Oldham will beat them by a mile.
Region 5:
1 South Oldham
2 Fern Creek
3 Eastern
4 North Oldham
5 Oldham County
Ryle is gonna finish that much further ahead of Campbell Co ? Lets break this down.
103 - Priscilla lost by two to Ryle. I'll call this neutral.
112 - Shotwell beat Isler. I'll call this neutral as well ... although Shotwell i think will slightly tilt the balance here. Putting it neutral though for the sake of not being overly biased.
119 - Deinlein won i believe. Edge Campbell Co.
125 - Goes to Ryle .. but their guy could go out early enough it wouldn't matter a lot.
130 - Very slight edge to Ryle, Rust would have beat Peace Wednesday had he not tanked. 3-0 lead blown, takedown and escape ... no lucky back point theories apply.
135 - Goes to Griffith easy. Advantage Campbell.
140 - Campbell won ... but i'll call it neutral.
145 - Wilson has beaten Aylor twice this year. Very slight edge campbell based on in season performance.
152 - Slight edge Ryle ... although Valdez was lucky to leave with the win. Campbell does need to qualify though ... if not thats devastating ... there's 5 quality guys at this class !!
160 - neutral ... Hovecamp and Hildreth are even.
171 - Ryle all day.
189 - Ryle ... but Alford from Campbell could place 7th or 8th if he has a good tourney.
215 - Fuller ... no doubts. Advantage Campbell ... had he wrestled Ryle's real 215 (not Ashworth .. and that was only 4-0) and not been sick it would have been ugly.
Hvy - Ryle ... but same applies here as 125.
If no one has any quarrels with these results based on seeing these guys wrestle one another ... how can you put Ryle 6th and Campbell in the teens ? Either Campbell is higher than the teens or Ryle is lower than 6th ... either may very well apply. Please note, Wilson and Rust may negate a significant part if not all damage Aylor and Peace would do at state in point scoring. And those are Ryle's two bread winners.
Campbell is taking off tomorrow because a lot of guys (and girl) are hurt or sick. I wanna see this go down with Ryle again with both teams at full strength (i'm sure Ryle has issues with sick and hurt guys too ... everyone does) ... this is a great rivalry and good for the region. I really don't think Scott or Simon will place higher than Campbell though, but are strong teams and are capable of doing so given the proper opening.
You also gotta take in what kinda draw they get at state... a good draw could make or break ur team
Exactly, thats why i made my comment about 125 and hvy. Of course, it applies elsewhere.
Winning this region as an individual is huge, it guarantees two things a lot of times. An awesome regional runner up is on the other side of the bracket at state, and you won't wrestle anyone really good until the quarters. Unless another region has a really good runner up too and you draw him in your 4 man bracket.
Grapplinfan:
I see things a little different.
103: Ryle should place 5-8. Pricilla will win a match or two but I don't think she will go far.
112: Once again I think Isler has the edge here, however both should win one or two matches at state.
119 Talon Deinlien may win a match or two here.
125: Not sure about either of these two.
130: I agree both should do well 3-5.
135: I’m still waiting to see if Griffith is healthy yet to place.
140: I don't know if either will win a match at state.
145: I think Aylor is either 1st or 2nd here. In region Aylor will lose to Cooper in the finals with Wilson placing 3rd. Aylor will either meet Cooper in the state finals or someone else. Wilson however I believe is at the bottom of this awesome wt. class. Placing 5th.
152: Valdez will make it to the state tourney and win a few matched where Brownfield will be the alternate at this wt class.
160: I agree Hovecamp, and Hildreth will both win a few matches and maybe place 4-6.
171: Reid will be top 6
189: Ashworth could be 3-5 in this wt. where Alford in no better than 7th, probably not placing.
215: Bodenbender will win some matches in this wt. probably the same as Alford here.
Hwt: Never know what will happen here, but I don't think either will place.

What you say is pretty valid .. but if the guy from Ryle doesn't beat Priscilla by more than 2 (it was 2-0) he will either not place that high or she may just miss placing. Wilson has beaten Aylor twice this year ... although its hard to beat a good wrestler 3 times in a row. If Aylor is as good as you say, why you overlooking wilson like that in light of this ?
Griffith has already beaten Chad Scott and Weldon ... and only lost by 4 to Ashbrooke. He is healthy enough, just has to wrestle to the level he is capable of.
Brownfield DID beat Casson .. i saw it happen. And once again, Valdez was lucky to leave with a win against him. He may end up the alternate .. it would be devastating. You seem to think it a given though ?
Shotwell just beat Isler Wed, and has wrestled Luna respectably. He and Isler might be close, but how can you overtly give the edge to Isler ? I'll stick with neutral on that one.
ONe more thing, if one team outperforms the other in consoles ... even if the guys don't place it adds up.
But enough of this !! I think we can both agree there is some great talent in this region, and that says a lot about this region as it is a down year for region 6.
