I'm sure there will still be a lot of guys moving weights over the next month.  In fact, some have completely confused me.  I see a kid weighs in for the body fat test at 120, so it looks as if he will be wrestling 119.  I look at some of the early season results and see he is wrestling at 135.  That means he had to weigh 125.1, but could have been much heavier.  I'm sure some of it has to do with team lineups, but whatever the deal is, some of you guys really have me confused. :?

lol, yeah i bet that was it. come on ranger, tates creek cant move up even a little in the dual rankings?

No they can not. How do you expect them to move up when Duncan keeps savagely oblitorating their varsity line-up at practice? The Tates Creek Cemetery runeth over with souls this passed fortnight.

lol

dusty u should just stay at 171 ya no... talkin all that smack haha....where are yall wrestling at saturday?

We'll be at L.I.T. i'll be like 159 when I weigh in. lol

You're welcome to swing by and watch me roll with your boy Alex Meades.

wouldnt be worth the time haha

Wow, 135 after Johnson is fairly weak and 140 is stacked.  I wonder if any of the top dogs from 140 will try and go 35.

13 Wood Co  Bill Semones  12

15  Sou  Jordan Blakemore  12

jordan beat him at KOB

yea I saw that 35 was weak too and wish I could drop down that low cause anyone at 40 say ranked 12 and higher could go place maybe even top 4 but I can only drop to 135 even and with would mean starvation and no energy on the mat so it wouldn't even be worth it

Will winning the L.I.T. at 171 boost my 152 ranking at all? Just curious.

Cory McCall From Woodford needs to be ranked the kid is tough, he was the toughest match Supe had at the K.O.B

He didn't wrestle Supe.  His loss was to Demery.

tates creek is having a huge weight change. everyone 135-171 will be dropping a weightclass once we get the 2 lb allowance

thats assuming everyone can make the cut, but i am confident they can..

does anybody know why jude jumped up so much, other than fear of Duncan Cadell of course...

He grew 22 pounds over the course of 8 days? I doubt it...

If your talking about the rankings I don't think Ranger knew what weight he was going. He probably got tipped off what weight he was going by someone that knows him.

I had no idea of Jude's growth until I saw the weight loss plan results.  Johnson Central didn't complete their testing until much later than everyone else.

Intersting result from Johnson Central today:  Robert Anchrom (sp) of JC beat Dakota Kincer of Letcher by a couple points.  I don't think either of them are at the weight they are shooting for this season, but considering Robert isn't ranked and Kincer is sitting at #2 at 103 and is a very good wrestler, I thought this was noteworthy.  I wasn't at the match I just heard the score.  Someone correct me if I am wrong on this.

Also, Tates Creek and Johnson Central will be wrestling later today, which is number 11 and 10 in the dual rankings.  Should be a pretty good match.

One more thing...where is this website where you can see everyone's weight and weight loss plan?  Can anyone access it?  Thanks for the help.

Here is some more information that might be useful in the rankings:

Tates Creek beat JC in a dual 42-38 (at least that is what I am told).  This is JC's first action of the year and so this is not a bad start for them, and I look for them to improve as the season goes on.

Also, Ryan Harlow (JC) Upended the Tates Creek HWT ranked 3rd in the rankings in overtime 11-9...great match.

I must say Tyler Boone destoryed me today. That makes it 2 Boones that have destroyed me in my 3rd match of the season.

At least I beat caldwell

Tates Creek beat Johnson Central 42-34. Nathan Gray lost twice today to Ryan Harlow and Anthony Cantrell. He has not had a full of week of practice yet and is definitely way out of shape. He will be fine when all is said and done. Johnson Central wrestled hard today and nothing can be taken from their heavies who flat out won today. However in a month I'll be very interested for the rematches at TCI.

tc vs jc was a close and good dual but the one who wanted it the most won it

Lost to McNeely tonight. No excuses. I went out and lost a match that I should have won with no problem. He beat me fair and square.

I will say this about my match against Sean Garcia: My hand didn't get raised, but I won that match.

kincer lost by 1 or 2 points but there was some contreversy over the score. kincer went on to beat Tates creeks zach brown by a couple points.

Logan Stuerle (North Oldham #17 152) beat Jamie Pile #3 145 Nelson Co today at the Nelson Co Duals.  He also beat Coty Berry by pin, and the Meade Co kid by pin.  He went 5-0 on the day with 4 pins.

The Meade kid was a freshmen that is going to drop to 145 but zach ulig and tanner cole couldnt wrestle this weekend.

wat does it take to get ranked for a first year wrestler

first i beat 3  Lar Co  Nick Paden at oldham co.

and today at L.I.T. i placed 1st place 103

wat does it take to get ranked for a first year wrestler

first i beat 3   Lar Co   Nick Paden at oldham co.

and today at L.I.T. i placed 1st place 103

Im pretty sure that Nick Paden was at 112 for the Oldham Co duals. Being that i wrestled him myself there. I am just assuming you wrestled there back up 103.

Paden was at 112 at OC duals.

Also at Nelson Co Lenz bumped up to 119 to wrestle Rusch.  heckuva match, Lenz beat him 12-5

heres some results for the johnson central tournament. 112 was a three way tie between johnson central, zac brown and dakota kincer. kincer beat brown by 1 point. brown pinning johnson central in the first period. johnson central beat dakota by two points. controversial score, but i feel the score was right, and i watched the whole match.

brandon abney, daniel griggs, dodd kinder, nick lalonde, and kasey hedges went undefeated at the tournament. kasey hedges beat zac salyers 10 to 7. andrew wright wrestled a solid close match to no 2 ranked johnson central kid at 145. stephen kimbrell wrestled a solid match as well against highly rated tyler grimm. i think the final score was 3 to 0. i think that joe davis went undefeated as well, but i could be wrong. the toughest competition at the tournament in my opinion was the 112 weight class with four very close competitors right there with eatch other. all the matches were very close and very exciting.

nathan gray lost two matches today, both were to johnson central. the final score of the dual between johnson central and tates creek was 42 to 34. it was another exciting dual just like last year.

yea joe davis was undefeated

What a match between Osbourne and Zarth.  10-8 OT in the semi's of the Raider Rumble.  Ozzy came out with a big takedown to win.  Great showing!

Two kids to watch at 112 are Chris Cory from PCC and Robert Ankrom from Johnson Central both performed well yesterday.

at the johnson central tourny i believe that Kasey Hedges beat Zach Salyers ( who was wrestling 135 on Saturday)  in an exhibition match.

hmm i noticed dez jakes lost to justin black yesterday

Team Rankings aren't that accurate. We have beaten 2 teams ranked ahead of us already. But I think they are based off of individual rankings which we don't have alot of people in.

at the johnson central tourny i believe that Kasey Hedges beat Zach Salyers ( who was wrestling 135 on Saturday)  in an exhibition match.

Yeah, I believe you are right that it was an exhibition.  Salyers was 5-0 on the day with his five matches in and just sort of came out of the stands and wrestled Hedges because there was not many 125s there. Zach was leading with under a minute to go and Hedges caught him in a throw. That is not to take anything away form Hedges who is a good wrester.  What happened to him last year?

Not to take anything away from Nathan Gray, but yesterday was the first time Ryan Harlow has stepped on a mat in two years.

Paden was at 112 at OC duals.

Also at Nelson Co Lenz bumped up to 119 to wrestle Rusch.  heckuva match, Lenz beat him 12-5

That was a very good match. Rusch is a very talented wrestler, he's going to be a beast his senior year seeing how he's only a freshman. Lenz is my pick for state champ at 112 this year.

Not to take anything away from Nathan Gray, but yesterday was the first time Ryan Harlow has stepped on a mat in two years.

Not to take anything away from Ryan Harlow but Nathan Gray has a severe shoulder injury which has basically kept him from practicing all year and meant he has been wrestling with one arm all year.

What happened to him last year?

you will have to ask kasey yourself what happened to him im not quite sure about what happened last year

you will have to ask kasey yourself what happened to him im not quite sure about what happened last year

Well from what i can recall at regions he had a very stacked weight class and a bad draw. I think he was the 4 seed and ended up wrestling Parks or Voth (can't remember who was the one seed). He ended up having to wrestle shawn johnson in conso's and lost a very close match to him.

Zack Bontrager was the #1 Seed

Not to take anything away from Nathan Gray, but yesterday was the first time Ryan Harlow has stepped on a mat in two years.

you are trying to make it sound like Harlow is a bad wrestler. Even though he has been off the mat for two years, that doesn't change the fact that Harlow beat the #8 rated wrestler in the state to get his starting spot. Harlow is a great wrestler from what I saw on Saturday and deserved to win that match. Nathan needs to just use that match to motivate him to work harder in practice

you will have to ask kasey yourself what happened to him im not quite sure about what happened last year

yea 125 was stacked in region 7 last year

in the team dual rankins. southern beat iroquois by like 20

I wasn't trying to say Harlow is a bad wrestler in anyway. I personally think he's a great wrestler and was impressed with his performance yesterday. Someone just come up with the excuse that Gray hadn't had a full week of practice in. I was just stating that Ryan hasn't been able to wrestle for two years.

that with a mix of mono, he was pretty sick

That was a very good match. Rusch is a very talented wrestler, he's going to be a beast his senior year seeing how he's only a freshman. Lenz is my pick for state champ at 112 this year.

i dont know i htink its going to be bradbury and lenz in the finals and i think bradbury will come over with m-dec

I say a Dee Leavell and Myron Bradbury matchup, with Andy Lenz 3rd

in the team dual rankins. southern beat iroquois by like 20

I'll admit that the dual rankings are the biggest guess on here.  Not knowing who has holes that give up forfeits is a big piece of the puzzle.  Also, until we see a few more results it is also hard to know what the unranked kids are capable of which also plays a big part in determining a dual winner.

I say a Dee Leavell and Myron Bradbury matchup, with Andy Lenz 3rd

I appreciate your Region 1 loyalty, but Leavell just lost to Warra.  Shouldn't he get a mention?

kasey hedges threw zach salyers three times during that match. once was out of bounds(debated by many fans and kaseys coaches), the second time was on the line and called out of bounds but kasey was awarded the takedown, and the third time kasey kept him in bounds and almost pinned him, but salyers was able to fight out of bounds. salyers took kasey down and got awarded 2 back with a barrel role from the bottem front headlock position to get an early lead in the first period. it was 5 to 3 going into the second period.in the third period, salyers started down and escaped.6-3. the third throw was thrown with under a minute left in the third period, salyers got out of bounds with around 27 seconds left. the score was then 8 to 6 hedges lead. salyers escaped from bottem with 15 seconds left and threw a desperation toss and got caught on his back. the final score was 13 to 7 including the desperation toss take down and back points which were actually awarded by the ref.

thats the whole match. points my be a tad bit off, but not too much.

i was getting ready to say something like that til i scrolled down more and saw that i believe warra and lenz will be a great match up in state semis or earlier and then we could see one of them in the finals with bradbury

Well I never really looked at that since last year Zack Bontrager lost to Wempe, then beat him in regionals (yes Wempe did beat him at state)

He also lost to wrestler from Ravenwood but in their rematch Zack won

I take it I am not using a good example

He didn't wrestle Supe.  His loss was to Demery.

Thats right excuse me i was talking about supe before i wrote that, but anyway, the kid is tough.

andy lenz and warra are both good wrestlers, but i feel that zac brown would be a better pick for the finals than either of them with bradbury.

Zach Cotton (HW) Anderson Co not wrestling (health issues)

Marcus White (171) Anderson Co not wrestling (quit before season started)

Ricky Kaelin (160 not 145) Anderson Co

Hunter Lilly (11th)- (130) Anderson Co 8 wins 2 losses in two weekends of wrestling (130 up from 112 state qualifier last year)

Ben Joseph - (12th) (119) Anderson Co hasn't wrestled but one weekend due to weight and/or ACT.

Corey Vincent (12th)- Anderson Co wrestling 145.

Jacob Vincent (9th)- Anderson Co wrestling 135.

Not sure if you get any info from Anderson Co or not.  Team is young overall but wrestling hard.  Thanks for your site.  Wasn't sure how you did rankings or where the info comes from.

im with tc125 on the 112 weight class and brown over the other two

I would proably say brown would stand a better chance of making the finals but you also cant forget troxell who has beat both lenz and brown. This weight class will be particularly fun to watch this year in my opinion.

What a match between Osbourne and Zarth.  10-8 OT in the semi's of the Raider Rumble.  Ozzy came out with a big takedown to win.  Great showing!

Goes to show its anyones game at that weight.

I will agree with you on this. Troxell is a very good wrestler but in my opinion lacks when it comes to the takedown. He is very strong and on ox on top. As for brown he lacks the agressiveness and repetition on top. Very competitive and skillfull on his feet and quick to react on bottom. Both have state final potential and should be interesting to see whats happens this year.

yea troxell seems like he is just monstrously strong for 112 i think i saw him beat brian thompson at a scrimmage this year so that kid is good.

yeah i completely forgot about troxell being 112. they're all pretty close, but bradbury seems far above the them...

Well from what i've been told, Seneca will be at the Harrison County Invitational on Dec. 27th. Should be pretty interesting tourney at 112.

Why do you always talk about yourself its not a big deal how you do against people this time of year it matters at state. rankings don't matter clearly i could care less where i'm at right now all that matters is where your at at the end of the year so we don't need a play by play of your match against salyers nobody cares get on the medal stand and prove it

it dose matter how u start off

well then i wasnt posting this for you, some people on the site do care how other people do, especially if they are in my weight. if you dont care, then dont read it or comment on it.

i believe that if you look back a page or two that there was something about  the hedges-salyers exhibition that was just being cleared up.

wat does it take to get ranked for a first year wrestler

first i beat 3   Lar Co   Nick Paden at oldham co.

and today at L.I.T. i placed 1st place 103

Cocky much? haha

hahahaha

For 1st yr. wrestlers to be ranked, you have to place in the top 20 at state. If you place at state in the top 10, you will be ranked above 11th. Good luck to you. :-D

thats exactly it clanman, but i didnt feel i needed to explain myself to him.

Two kids to watch at 112 are Chris Cory from PCC and Robert Ankrom from Johnson Central both performed well yesterday.

112 was the toughest weight class at Johnson Central this weekend.  Cory took Brown of Tates Creek into overtime, Ankrom looked like a beast, and Kincer did his usual thing.

yeah i feel 112 was the toughest as well.

Kincer did lose a match though didn't he?

Then why is Mack Logsdon ranked, i keep beating this dead horse i know, but for first year wrestlers if you have to place top 20 at state then why is logsdon ranked?

Because Logsdon is known around the state and people know his ability. They are Ranger's rankings and he obviously knows Logsdon is capable. I saw Mack wrestle this weekend and completely agree.

As for Seneca's 103, I'm sure Ranger just didn't get the full results from Super Duals and Goff will be ranked on the next rankings.

Give it time if you keep winning against kids that are ranked, they get reported to Ranger. I think Ranger is updating the rankings once a week, you might make this weeks. If not you have a choice, 1st -Quit wrestling so you don't have to complain about not making the rankings or 2nd Keep winning all the way through state so when you get the GOLD, you can say the hell with Rangers rankings. :-D

Good answer.  I can't disagree.

yea bradbury does seem like hes on another level

ok Bradbury might win i dont think hes on a different level at all

im going with Bradbury, Lenz, Warra, and Leavell as a toss up

i watched Warra and Leavell wrestle this weekend and ive watched Bradbury over the years and from what i saw Saturday i saw its a toss up

lantis washington 160 from iroq was pinned in 1:07 by brody oleary sou at their dual meet

Jordan Blakemore beat Jordan Tennyson 12-10 today

I'm sure there will still be a lot of guys moving weights over the next month.  In fact, some have completely confused me.  I see a kid weighs in for the body fat test at 120, so it looks as if he will be wrestling 119.  I look at some of the early season results and see he is wrestling at 135.  That means he had to weigh 125.1, but could have been much heavier.  I'm sure some of it has to do with team lineups, but whatever the deal is, some of you guys really have me confused. :?

Team Duals

1 Union Co

2 Trinity (Louisville)

3 Campbell Co

4 Ryle

5 Seneca

6 John Hardin

7 Oldham Co

8 Wayne Co

9 Larue Co

10 Johnson Central

11 Tates Creek

12 Christian Co

13 Woodford Co

14 North Oldham

15 Iroquois

16 Meade Co

im just curious as to why Harrison Co isn't ranked. We have a pretty solid team and have beaten #7 Oldham Co, #14 North Oldham. We have lost to Meade and John Hardin but was lacking Trevor Maxwell and a hwt (which was out due to football)

So is Maxwell back?

This takes into account only the top 2 from each region, to "project" state duals finish.  I'm somewhat guessing at that right now, but once the teams are determined I will only rank those 16.

Your football team has been on the sidelines too long for those guys to be missing meets.

The football season has been over for a while but we have jus recruited a hwt from the team in the past two weeks and are still getting him use to the basics. I do see what ur saying now about the "project" state duals finish though.

William Northington(prp) dec 3-2  Alex Meads(Irq)

This was Willys 1st or 2nd match back this year.  If he can learn a few moves he will be very tough at 160 or 171
